► APEX | Introducing The All-New Forged EC-7R 5x100 86/BRZ Wheel Line

The EC-7R is being replaced by the new VS-5RS wheel design, therefore, we're offering 30% off + free shipping in the continental U.S. on all remaining EC-7R inventory.

Pick up a set of these lightweight and very strong fully forged wheels at amazing pricing before they're gone!

Introducing The All-New Forged APEX EC-7R
5x100 Wheels Engineered Specifically For Your 86/BRZ

We're very excited to officially release our first line of forged wheels engineered specifically for your 86/BRZ chassis. For over 13 years now our mission at APEX has been to provide weekend track warriors and competitive w2w racers with lightweight, durable wheels at affordable pricing. Our new line of forged wheels builds upon these principles, now enhanced with the benefits of forged manufacturing.

The EC-7R is packed with new functional and aesthetic features, and most importantly, they meet the demands of 86/BRZ owners. You asked for wheels with a concave face profile that still had the ability to clear the factory PP/TRD Brembo brakes without the need for spacers, and we listened.

These wheels were built to withstand the repetitive abuse drivers cycle wheels through on the race track. Many manufacturers rely on the word "forged" to imply strength when their actual load ratings are just as low as cast wheels. Our EC-7R wheels were designed from the start to have measurably higher load ratings so they don't just sound stronger, they are stronger.

This thread aims to educate the community on all the EC-7R has to offer, and to share photography so you can get a better sense of just how good these look on-car. Please feel free to ask questions along the way.

Beautiful wheels.

Do the 17s all share the same concave face? If not, do you have any photos of the 17x9 +42? Interested in that size.

Thank you.

Appreciate it!

You are correct. All 17" & 18" wheels within the EC-7R line have the same concave face profile. The community has been very vocal about the desire for a concave wheel design, so the engineering team made that one of our key initiatives in the design phase while ensuring they could still clear the factory Brembo BBK (as well as a wide variety of other popular aftermarket BBKs). Compromising functionality (BBK clearance) was not an option in the name of aesthetics, so we had to accomplish both.

We kicked things off with a good amount of on-car photography, but we wanted to update you with some renderings we had done of the wheel finishes that were not covered thus far. I'll be the first to say that the renderings do not do these finishes justice. At the very least, we hope it is enough inspiration to help you decide which finish you'd like go with.

EC-7R 17x9.5" ET40 in Satin Bronze

EC-7R 17x9.5" ET40 in polished

EC-7R 17x9.5" ET40 in Brushed Clear

These are great! I will be saving up to have these replace my ARC-8 wheels. Any chance we could see the 17x9 ET35 fitment on one of the above cars in the future?

17x9 et35 are .5" narrower than 17x9.5 et40, and have 5 mm lower offset.
That means that the face of the 17x9 et35 wheel is going to be only 1.35 mm (6.35mm - 5mm) off from where the face of the 17x9.5 et40 is on these photos. Assuming the concavity of the 17x9.5 wheel is the same as 17x9, they will look basically identical if you use 245/40 on the 17x9 wheel.

@timurrrr is exactly right. These two wheel fitments virtually look the same from the side of the car, except the difference in how they support a given tire compound. The 17x9" ET35 will have lots of inner suspension clearance allowing a broader range of enthusiasts to run them, while the 9.5" ET40 wheels take up all the available real estate within the fender wells, thus requiring aftermarket coilovers that have a slimmer silhouette.
