Car is still mostly stock, except for Borla exhaust, Hawk DTC60's, brake fluid, and crash/camber bolts.

CAN data was consistent all weekend with no data disconnects, so that was good.

Smooooth.
It's nice to hear a fairly consistent tire squeal from turn in to a conservative track out.

I recently came across an epic Google Sheets database which lists all 86 track records and hot laps with video / photo evidence attached to each submission for verification.

[Here is the 86 track records google sheets document]

The guy who made this wants this to get global to connect the 86 community.

2:02.58 at Buttonwillow yesterday on SX2s.

First off, sorry for the awful video quality, switched GoPros in the middle of the day and forgot to adjust settings.

This lap was in the third session of the day, which strangely ended up being the fastest. In the morning sessions, the track seemed to have absolutely no grip, and due to Miatas sending themselves into the shadow realm at every corner both sessions were frequently interrupted.

I am still very confident I can manage a 2:01.5 or better with this setup, will just need the right conditions.

Buttonwillow CW13 2:01.6
2020 Toyota 86
First time trying 245/40/17 RE71RS, crazy amounts of grip...
There is more time to be found for sure.

Pretty clean lap, I would say your biggest opportunity to gain time is through off-ramp. I would start braking slightly earlier and try to be in the middle of the track before turn in - you will be able to carry much more minimum speed through the corner. In this particular lap it looks like you broke a little late and as a result had to come in pretty narrow.

Looks like fun! I was really hoping to make that Buttonwillow weekend to get some lap times in with my GR86, still being mostly stock. Couldn't make it happen though

Couple videos below of another wet day at Arizona Motorsports park from a couple weeks back. I drove the car in TT4 for points, when my normal TT4 BMW had mechanical issues. The GR86 is so good on the stock PS4 tires

Mods: Borla exhaust, Hawk DTC60's, brake fluid, and crash/camber bolts.

The track is still wet here

Fast lap from the wet sessions, 1:56.531:

Awesome advice, I will have to try this !!! I've been working on different approaches to this turn and have never really nailed any consistency with it.

Here’s my second best lap of the day from Buttonwillow, but much better video quality this time.

1:55.02 at Sonoma. 86Drive Challenge Street class build. Hadn't driven Sonoma since Nov 2021 so felt nice to get back. Forget how crazy and bumpy this track is. Definitely can do a mid 1:54 on this setup. This would be a street class record by about 1s but its not during an event so of course doesn't count. Couldn't make the official event tomorrow unfortunately.

Took the NASA AZ and NASA SoCal Chuckwalla CW TT5 record today, so now I've got my stupid mitts on both CW and CCW. Unfortunately, about a tenth off my goal (Sonny's 1:58:580 in Blub)

Not a very clean lap, but it got the job done

1:58:709
205whp / 2901lb / 4" flat splitter / Verus High Efficiency Wing / 255 Maxxis RC1

Nice lap and congrats! I see a few places I can improve and (hopefully) be faster after watching this one.

Another CVR CW track day (from Feb. 12, 2023), knocked a couple tenths off my previous best. Data said I could do a 2:06.5, but couldn't get it together. Think the stock PS4's are finally dying off as they were hating life all day, as you can hear in the video (lots of pushing, ex: turn 9 ).

2022 GR86
Chuckwalla CW
2:07.299

Car is still mostly stock, except for Borla exhaust, Hawk DTC60's, brake fluid, SPC camber bolts, and newly installed Eibach lowering springs.
