Was up to check out the Tall Pines Rally up in Bancroft Ontario over the weekend and spotted an 86 competing.
Any of you there? Saw a few 86/BRZ leaving the iron bridge area parking around noon hour. Nice area I had not much opportunity to visit. So here’s for those who prefer to have fun in the mud. Will post more rallying picts in the OT photography tread later this morning. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Some 2nd Gen love coming soon.
![]() ![]() Speedline now makes a BRZ/FRS/GT86 specific 15x6" wheel. https://get-primitive.com/wheels-ral...-brz-gr86.html Have 175/70-R15 rally tires getting mounted soon. The ideal size for a lightweight 2WD platform on fast gravel. ![]() |

Baaaaaaarely clears, but it does. I most likely will put a 5-10mm spacer on there just to feel a little more comfortable. Or redrill the tierod mounting point similar to what Dirtfish does. Once I complete the two rally cars in the background on the rotisserie (former Vermont Sportscar 2006 Impreza STI) this car will be getting stripped down and built up as a full production rally car. Goal is to develop it into something that we can reproduce and sell as a turnkey rally car for 2WD rallying in the USA. Similar to what the TMG CS-R3 cars were, except with street legal USA VIN's, and designed for the US rally ruleset. Car will be 3d scanned, parts developed, manuals made, custom parts designed and in theory, should be able to quickly reorder the custom brackets, cage, carbon parts, etc. since we'll have all the CAD data and tooling built. Still about 2-3 months away from really kicking things off. |

Just got my lift kit installed. I have yet to drive it properly as its currently in for alignment.
Bilstein B6, 1" Subtle Solutions spacers, 1.5" Subtle Solutions RA kit, Chuhatsu .5" lift springs, Whiteline Adjustable Rear LCA, SPC Front Camber Bolts. I'll do an update later with my thoughts on it. To be followed by 27" A/T tires.

Update: Initial feel of the car after alignment is basically like oem, but smoother (i'm guessing because of the shocks). The springs are frs oem rates, so nothing much has changed, but 1.5" taller. Slightly more body roll, but nothing significant.
Here's some pics post alignment

Doing some questionable saw and hammer mods to fit the larger diameter tires. The setup on the fitment guide is for 215/65/16 on 16x7+30. Going to need some verus steering limiter spacers for the inside edge of the tire on full lock, but the outside edge now clears. I will try fit the limiter spacers to clear 235/55/17 on 17x7.5+35~38 so i have options, but if i can't find a happy medium between offset and steering limiters, ill probably only run 235 in the rear for sandy surfaces. Fingers crossed i can take a heat gun to the fender liner to mold it back and have no rub.

Another update: After driving on the lift, its amazing. everything is much smoother, even slightly spirited is planted and the slight body roll made no difference.
I've now installed my a/t tires and the wheel/tire combo is perfect. After the trimming and folding of the frame rail, I took a heat gun to the fender liner and molded it back for more room and its entirely intact. The combination with the 16x7+30 gives a few mm of clearance on all sides of the wheel well to full lock with absolutely no rub, no wheel spacers or steering limiters required. The tire is flush in the front with no poke. If i had any more poke, the tire would rub on the liner and bumper, if i had any more suck, the wheel would rub on the inner rail/fender.
