I respectfully concede, sir. VERY much in the realm of possibility.

Possibility is the key word there! It certainly could have been something else but from the information we have (circumstantial as it is) the root cause seems evident.
Can do a fish bone up if you would like!

Wuh? The electric motor doesn't have that much force in it, although I do agree it would be scary for someone in the first occurrence. But I'm usually that **** that plays the game with my friends like whether or not I can make it through the entire neighborhood with the engine off and still get in the driveway......

I have many times, I have a PFC, and the PS switches on when you turn the key to the 'on' position and not when the engine is running, so I have to remove the PS fuse when trying to jump start the car, and leave the PS off for a little while, and drive the car around to let the battery charge as it's a big drain on power. It's stiff but not too bad

In our defense we were actually considering a formal analysis of OP's <ahem> issue.

....well, talking shit about considering it, at least.

At highway speeds it will not be an issue...at parking lot speeds it will be more difficult but still manageable. I had the power steering go out on my Camaro track car and I didn't even know it until I came in at the end of the session...and then I KNEW it! 275/45-17 DOT-R rubber all around on a 3200lb car with a smaller diameter Sparco racing steering wheel....steering wheel was flexing and bending when turning in the pits. That was a fun drive home...LOL

I also depowered and devalved the power steering rack on a '90 Integra RS that was daily driven.... steering feel was even better than the FRS and not too bad at slow speeds with a 320mm Momo wheel, 2300lb car though.

Like legit it was really really bad what we would do because we were all gearheads and bear in mind I'm 20 and this is when we were just 16 and got our licenses. We would literally go as fast as we could through a neighborhood drop in neutral then turn the car off and make it through in "stealth mode". We would have parents picking up other kids yelling at us and stuff the entire time, we did other stupid shit too like trays under our back tires we stole from the cafeteria and stuff but I thought in hind site that the "stealth mode" thing was the most reckless and stupid thing we did.

Good news everyone

Toyota Australia willing to replace the electric Power Steering motor and Power Steering ECU unit (did't know they have a separate ECU for the Power Steering). This is the instruction from the Top.

Good on you Toyota Australia, excellent customer service.

For those who argue about the steering, you obviously has not own an 86, if you do, just try to turn your car off then try to turn the steering wheel to see if you can make the full circle.

For anyone having similar issue and cannot get the local dealer to agree to fix the problem, I would highly recommend to contact Toyota for the nation rather than the local dealer, they operate independently and will not go the extra mile for your Warranty services. The local dealer was going to send the car back to me as it because they could not replicate the fault.

I own a BRZ, which has the same exact parts as the FRS/GT86 (it's the same fing car!) and it's not that hard to steer the wheel with the assist off. Try steering a Miata with a manual rack with wide and sticky Z rate tires on and we'll talk.

Maybe you need to hit the gym...

Also, you said something about a full circle, what were you trying to do? A U-turn or a switchback? Seriously something doesn't add up here, but good on Toyota for taking care of the issue.
