I was telling a guy at work that it would be great if I could get the same camo pattern wrap for my car to feed the rumor mill.

I was going to wait and see what it looks like before making a decision. At this point, I might just actually consider buying the 20 if the next R looks like that. Too much Accord in it.

The CTR is ugly. I wouldn't even call it aggressive, just ugly and fake like the new Zupra. I prefer this new one if it looks remotely like the renders, not that I'd buy one anyways. US Type-R's died after 2001

We could do the great FT86 prank of 2020! Get as many people as we can to do it worldwide.

You're welcome to appreciate how it looks. But fake is fake, that's not really an opinion - it's a fact. Most people would also consider it very aggressive and tacky looking. And I can't help but think that nobody thinks this car's design will age well.
And historically speaking, Type Rs have had none of that in their styling. Function over form. Handsome and understated styling.

lol guess for my generation especially being into gundams/mecha, the type-r, or rather the current civic gen's front end in general, has always looked pretty cool. not handsome perhaps, but still fun to look at i could care less about "fake" as long as it looks good or cool..

Honda was even doing a collab with Evangelion, I'm not sure how far it went though. It's clear they know who they are selling to, and it ain't many people on this forum.

I am one of the people involved in the Type-R Club of America. So I am squarely in the demo for the CTR. If I wanted one I could have bought one in 2017 for MSRP. In hindsight I should have just to use a car for a year and sell it used for basically MSRP - it would have been a solid financial move. However my Focus RS at the time was a better car in my opinion so I didn't buy the CTR. I was willing to put up with it's fugly looks if it delivered on the driving experience I wanted. It didn't, so I didn't. Mostly off topic but Honda also mostly lost me as a customer because they treated a good friend with a 17 CTR like shit and blocked all warranty coverage on the powertrain.. on a STOCK CAR. Because they said the car was modified because their mechanics dirty handprints where on the ECU.. they claimed it was tuned. Normally I'd believe Honda but in this case I knew 100% that the car was stock. Eventually Honda took the car, replaced the ECU at the owners cost, drive the car for a day.. and had it fail the exact same way it was doing before. They finally listened to the owner that it was obviously the wiring harness fault. To this day that car throws a flag when any dealer scans it that they have to contact Honda before performing warranty work.. again on a STOCK CAR.
