The rear leg car is part of the overall strategy. She was in the wagon last night for our walk. We pulled her out on community lawn for her to sniff and being basset, she got to sniff the neighborhood from the wagon

Well, we were able to get a bump in Dot’s neurologist appointments. She had an MRI and a couple herniated discs. We opted for surgery to help our old lady walk again.

This is a screenshot from last night walking as we passed a sprinkler.

Basset Hounds always look like they need a reassuring hug. In this case, your's really does. Good luck!

I've been showing your bassets to my sister and her husband... now BIL wants a basset to complete their "set" along with their beagle and coonhound.

Hope Dot recovers well! She won the lottery with you and your wife as owners.

Wish I won the lottery. I’m up to 12,000 in vet bills since January.

Our new basset is hard as fuck.

We completed our road trip to and from Tahoe on Friday. Here are some fun pics:

Sort of chilling in the car on the way back:

On our way back to our car from Fallen Leaf Lake, he decided he didn't want to walk anymore and plopped down into the dirt and then rolled around .

He refused to get in the water at that lake, so he just hung out the whole ~3 hours tied to a nice bench a few feet from the water. Whenever I got a little too far from him he started whining/howling/barking for me, lol, even the few times I had to go into the bushes to handle some "business".

At Lake Tahoe (I, uh, threw him into the water multiple times against his will and he wasn't too happy about it):

Sort of hiking a trail to a place called Cascade Falls, but he hated it and kept stopping in the little bits of shade along the cliffside:

Dot is standing on her own again. She’s taking steps, albeit little drunken last steps. She was paralyzed and just had spinal surgery two weeks ago! She had a follow up with her neurologist, which remarked she’s pretty good for a 12 year old basset girl. Going out with her sniffing candy bags on Halloween.

I told Haru to stop bothering me while I build my standing desk, but of course he has declared his dominion over it and decided to be the first to use it as a "standing desk":

My middle son and his wife are staying with us as they relocate from Virginia to Idaho, so we have 2 more dogs for now. Teddy the Saint Bernard is probably one of the dumbest, laziest dogs ever. He is just over a year old. Hank the Great Dane is better. He is way smarter and he's only 9 months old. They both need LOTS of work. My son and his wife have no clue how to train dogs.

My house is going to be a disaster for a couple months.

Haru is a mix of those lol. Sometimes I really wish Haru were dumber. He's definitely lazy.
