I'm done with boxer engines and I'd say direct injection motors as well so I really have no stake in this. It's just crazy to me that with all these Rotrex kits out there nobody can post a mustang dyno over 350 whp on E85. Where as there are a ton of 350 WHP E85 non hub dyno sheets from TVS 1320 kits with the standard pulley. I really want to see C38 standard pulley E85 vs Edelbrock or Harrop standard pulley E85 on track comparison. Same driver, same tires, same suspension setup. My money would be on the TVS 1320 kit every time. Hell, I'd even contribute money towards seeing such a test take place. @CSGMike Last edited by GrabTheWheel; 11-20-2018 at 04:12 PM. |

What do you mean? Of course you need a good driver for SCCA championship and that driver needs a good car. |

Only because I think I'm one of the few people on here who have owned both kits. I think the ft86 community should know the truth...

My point is I think Oscar Jr. would be faster even if you put him in a different car. It's not the best comparison. Hopefully somebody like Speed Academy can do an unbiased track test.

Oh another one! thanks for reminding. Speed Academy won Ontario 1500 with JRSC. Rotrex was their choice, just like Oscar Jr. You know, you don't make any sense at all.

There is no doubt that the Rotrex is great on track when it's working properly. I'm just not sure it's hands down the best kit for track driving like it's touted to be on here when compared to let's say the Harrop kit. I personally think the Speed Academy car would have faired better in the head 2 head S2K comparison with a different set up. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't be the only one who's curious. |

You claimed Rotrex was bad. Let's ignore my experience/opinion; CSGMike replied that you are wrong on Rotrex reliability. You are still insisting on that argument What can I say ... sure that is an opinion. |

No, it's crazy to me that with Ethanol and a BAR of boost the Rotrex can't make a legit 350 WHP. Any other setup will!

Ok. Back to the facts for those of you whose Rotrex failed how long did it take to get a replacement blower? When my first C30 failed after less than 3000 miles I was told it would take up to 10 weeks to get a replacement under warranty. I then opted to just pay for a new blower and get refunded down the road. The crazy part is it STILL took 10 weeks to get me a new blower even though I paid for it upfront. I've heard that the Vortech supercharger warranty wait times are similar BUT I assume if you are willing to pay it won't take 10 weeks! It should be noted that my C30 seemed to fail very quickly after I made the switch to E85 although I was still on the standard pulley so I don't see how that should have made a difference.
If anyone else has owned both a Rotrex and TVS kit feel free to comment but this was my experience. Rotrex Pros- Least likely to cause harm to your engine Makes cool noises Runs coolest and will be least effected by hotter ambient temps Cons- Makes less power Makes lots of noises Not the most reliable TVS Pros- Makes more power Quiet operation More reliable OEM quality blower Cons- More likely to cause damage to a stock motor (on E85) Quiet operation Runs hotter and will be more effected by high ambient temps Unfortunately I only had the opportunity to drive lots of canyons and autoX in both cars, never got to track either setup and that's why I'm so interested in the comparison. My friend with a Harrop car says it stays nice and cool on track days though. Last edited by GrabTheWheel; 11-20-2018 at 07:56 PM. |

Sprintex is twin screw. I said that TVS which is roots is near silent. I wouldn't say the TVS blowers run hot but IAT's are higher from what I noticed and I also noticed more loss of power on the street with hot temps but there was also more power to lose.
