Corrosion Warranty Claim

I'm curious to see if anyone has ever made a successful claim for corrosion? Today I noticed a spot about 2cmx6cm on the leading edge of my roof. I'll post a picture when I can but any thoughts as to whether or not Toyota will accept this as warranty or just say it's wear and tear? It's a a tougher spot to hit directly with a rock or something that could have chipped the paint but anything is possible. Any thoughts/opinions are appreciated.

Thanks

rust is corrosion. paint/clearcoat damage/wear is not. you pretty much need rust or see bare metal with rust on it to make a claim.

I have seen others post that surface corrosion was corrected by the dealer, but I think officially the corrosion warrantee is when the rust goes through a panel.

Post some pics of what you are seeing.

Yep! That should be covered for sure. No way that can be blamed on damage that I can see.

Have you had any previous body work done or is that straight from the factory?

Thanks, I'm hoping they are able to cover it and don't give me some bs excuse. It was my first thought as well that it would be too hard to actually get a stone chip there. I understand regular stone chips on the hood wouldn't be covered due to wear and tear but this one seemed odd to me. Ill bring it up to a dealer and see what they say.

My guesses:
Improper trim install and it nicked or rubbed.
Paint prep faulty or piece of debris.
Something caught in trim or gasket rubbed and broke paint.

Is that by your windshield or back glass? Have you had your windshield replaced?

Ya, you should be covered. Also check the seal by the doors where the triangle glass meets the moving glass, under the trim there, there has been tiny rust spots to show up. And pop the hood near the fender well area there is a rubber trim/cover area where leaves can accumulate inside the fender and hold moisture.

Its my windshield, and yea I did have it replaced. I'm hoping that doesn't cause an issue with the claim but who knows.
