In regards to Honda, they generally make the best NA motors. The brand was mostly on top in the 90's. I could see why you'd keep an integra over a s2000.
Toyota was at its pinnacle in late 80's, early 90's with the MR2, Celica, Supra, AE86.

But, if I were to buy a toyota Previa that seats 4+ or a old Rav4 that can seat 7 people, wouldn't it also be an upgrade? I mean, twin=2+2 Coupe.

I don't see a Civic as an upgrade, rather a different choice of vehicle.

SI seats 5, 21/31 MPG, 205hp, 300lbs more than FR-S, and just 2-3k cheaper.

I'd pay 2-3k more for the looks it has (staring at the hips on the fr-s have almost made me crash twice now), for it being a Toyota, RWD (the dying breed), and most of all, because it makes me happy knowing that I am working my @ss off every day to pay for a car that I've been following since 2007 or so.

OP might feel the same about his Civic.

I don't drive my twin for the speed, the hp/torque, I drive it for it's unique looks against any of the other Toyota vehicles. Because it brings a smile and euphoria down to my loins. I drive it because I get more looks from Honda fan boys and American Muscle fans here than any other vehicles.


Stop comparing performance of a Civic against the Twins.

Civic has 30+ years in production, FR-S has 3-ish. Bad comparison.

Try the Corolla XRS vs Civic Si. Or civic vs Corolla in general.


p.s. I can do donuts in the parking lot, not just long turns. XD

I wish... there's a few owners here who clearly did not. Many even posted items such as, "I got the car finally, traded in X, or bought it cheap because when I saw it, I knew I wanted it..." etc...

I test drove them many times since 2012, then dealer allowed me to keep a STI for almost week with $2k deposit and some restrictions (such as no more than 500 miles) hoping i'd fall in love with it. I liked it but it bugged me on mpg and didn't fit me emotionally? Then the FR-S for 3 days. I abused it a bit. I loved it. (Maybe op got mine after I abused it? I didnt buy that FR-S)

Anyway, many people are fanbois of Initial-D, Tokyo Dorifto or associated works, they do not take the time to see our little vehicles are overpowered go-karts. These are enthusiast inspired and designed for enthusiasts.

Agreed man. I try and I try to have level-headed conversations, but I can't force others to be unbiased.

I just do my best to help those who have less experience in the automotive world, but hey, this is the Internet and everyone is going to act like THEY know what they are talking about.

The best thing to do is keep our heads up and continue spreading the truth, and just hope that someone learns something.
