OEM wheels from other models

A little background before I ask my question: when I parked my car for the winter, I knew I needed new tires (OEM wheels), so I started a thread about the best tires so I could do some research before spring. Well, I had some trouble with my truck, so I put winter tires on the factory wheels for emergency use.

So then I started watching the classified for a second set of wheels. But I just don't see anything that I actually get excited about, at least in my price range (CHEAP!!). I like the look of the factory wheels; I just don't like that they are only 7" and don't sit flush. So, I figured I'd just find a cheap set of factory wheels someone is selling and have 2 sets (I know, boring).

Then, I had another idea: what about OEM wheels from another Subaru model? Started looking and found some Legacy wheels that would fit and are 7.5 wide, but not too excited about them, either.

And now the question: does anyone know of some OEMs that fit that look decent (and I can get used at a good price)? OR, outside of Subaru? I've seen a couple threads here and there, but this is a hard subject to search for. It's also hard to search online, because most sites just want to know what kind of car you want wheels for.

How cheap is "CHEAP!!"?

A lot of factory wheels sell for $600-1,000 for a set, and you can find plenty of used aftermarket wheels in that range too. I know there are a set of Kosei K1-TS for sale in the classifieds thread that a buddy is selling for $650. And RPF1s are regularly in that price range.

Other than Subaru, VW and Toyota are going to have the most 5x100 OEM wheels. The VW wheels might fit kind of funky because of differing offsets, but there should be some Toyota and Subaru wheels you can look at.

Personally, I'd wait around for a good deal on some used aftermarket wheels to pop-up before spring. If it gets down to the wire, there are usually a good number of factory wheels out there. Worst case, pick up another set of OEM FR-S/BRZ wheels. If you buy them used you should be able to resell them for the same you paid or maybe a bit less.

Yeah, I'm keeping my options open... and yes, a set of OEM 86 wheels are still on my radar. I still have plenty of time.

How cheap is cheap? I'd say less that $600. I've seen some used ebay sets in the $400 range.

Look in the wheel directory thread. There are a good number of options in there and they have all been proven to fit.

It's in this post - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...10&postcount=6

There's a set of these on eBay right now for 500. A bit curbed, though

nasioc classifieds usually have quite a few wheels for sale at any given time.

I've never understood Subaru's passion for +48 and +53 offset wheels. It looks like the car skipped leg day.

Mostly comes down to minimizing scrub and SAI with a strut suspension. And possibly wheel bearing loads.
