Which lowering springs? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Hello all,

So my car is brand new (5k miles) and I want to lower it for aesthetics reasons

My first idea is to install Eibach pro kit, but I wonder If I should consider other options. What about H&R sport springs? I am in Europe so these are the most common here, but i dont know the difference

I don´t use the car daily so I am not really aiming for proper confort (I do eventual trips though, so a balance would be good).

I will be tracking frequently. So eventually, If the springs are lasting enough, in the future I might be installing Bilstein B6 or B8 with these springs too. (how much could be springs lasting btw?). Or another combo you can recommend

I would like to here your comments, also considering this future suspension upgrade

Its widely accepted that RCE Yellows lowering springs are the best, not sure if theyre available to you. Eibach is a juggernaut in the spring industry, so they are a great pick too. really any spring you choose will be up to the task. i installed Hotchkis lowering springs on my friends brz last weekend and they turned out great, but to do lowering spring you will need pass-thru wrenches, no questions.

I have Eibach Sport lines.. I've had them on the car just over 5years now..very happy with them.

Racecomp Yellow f:250 / r:250

Thats lbs/in spring rates.

Asking for real- your struts haven't blown? Did you need rear LCA to fix camber?

I did the TRD lowering springs with the TRD antisway bars. It lowered my frs about inch.

Lowered, front camber bolts and an alignment that's it.

+1 this is what I did too. very happy with this combo, it's a great upgrade over stock as it keeps the stock ride quality over most bumps except the real big ones - harsher over these. sits nice and flat through the corners with next to zero body roll.

Not sure where I read it but maybe I am wrong. Aren’t the Eibach pro kits same with the TRD?
Also Is the sway bar in the Eibach pro kit plus also the same that TRD is using ?

They may be the same "bar" but I believe the TRD only has one set of holes while the Eibach is two-position.

Guys, please notice a thing: US Eibach and EU Eibach are not the same. US are made in US with specific spring rates. Pro Kit has different bump stops, Sportline available. US TRD springs are rebranded US Eibach.
EU Eibach are made in Germany, they have no bump stops and different part number. Sportline are not available.

Where is sportline not available? I got mine in the UK.

+2 on this combo. I think it handles and rides better with the TRD springs.
