You mean the v2 kit? Why? They've fixed the issues with the kit & the V3 is more than adequate for my future power goals.

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

All right guys, Yesterday I attended FT86 Cup at Streets of Willow CCW. I had never seen heat issues...before that day. As soon as I did my first two sessions I started seeing the coolant temperatures start to reach 210F. When I did my third session I saw it peak to almost 230F on my hot laps. Luckily I did not suffer any damage to the fans, but I had a feeling if I ended up staying for the last session than it would have melted them. Oil and Intake temps were perfectly stable.

I am going to order a 20amp 12" fan for the left side of the radiator, to see if I can pull some more air into that thing. Other than that everything performed well and I had a blast. Had a pretty high MPH spin that was the most awesome/scariest thing ever, luckily nothing was damaged at all.

Definitely have to take care of this heat, or I might consider switching to supercharger.

I was there too

I got to 260F in Buttonwillow, not really bad for the engine according to most people, but it will lose power.

I installed an oil cooler and got to 228F max in SoW.

My point was that I was reaching 230F after 2 laps. If I had hot lapped for all 8 in the session I'm sure that I would be seeing temperatures that are starting to get pretty dangerous.

Your oil temp never reached 203F at the track? Or did you mean 230F?

Adding a few bits of information for everyone who's not familiar with your car.

- @Sterz was running on wastegate pressure, which is his *lowest* output calibration.

- The car is running E85

- The car has a FB Radiator, SPAL fans, and a FB shroud

- Ambient temperature never went over 73F the whole day

TL;DR: The car is NOT trackable in current condition, even with E85 and cooling mods. Additional (minor) tweaks were recommended to get the coolant temps under control.

One thing that no one has mentioned is if they have replaced any of the air dams that get removed when you install an aftermarket radiator.

The stock radiator has foam air dams that help duct air through the radiator, and all these go bye bye when installing aftermarket radiators, leaving a lot of area around and above the radiator that air can simply go around, instead of through the radiator.

Replacing/fabricating the air dams/ducting so the air is directed through the radiator I think is one of the last pieces of the puzzle.

The Spal fans and shroud make a big difference, but a LOT of air can go around and above the radiator without the air dams in place.

Has anything been done regarding eliminating the engine bay hot air? Vented hood? Modded skidplate? Fender garnish vents?

Without Something to eliminate the hot engine bay air, I'd expect the same results.
