Torque for Android

Has anyone used this or is using this now? The tablet is paired, and the reader is plugged in and the vehicle profile is set up.

What else do i, should I, do before using it?

I've found that with some of the less expensive BT dongles that it can cause the car to go into limp mode.

I bought one from newegg that I posted on in another thread and the dongle would cause my car to fault if the ELM327 timing adjust was disabled.

I then bought another different model off Amazon and turned the ELM327 timing adjust back off. The fault happened again causing my car to go into limp mode again.

I turned the ELM327 timing adjust on in the app and it hasn't gone back into limp mode again.

Lol well I hadn't even thought of it damaging the car. I was more or less looking for tips on set ups and such.

I use it. Mostly just in the morning while my car is warming up. Start the car, go back inside my house, wait till torque tells me the coolant temp is warm enough. Bluetooth is awesome lol

whoah, this is very very strange. Hop on the torque site and send him a message to investigate, it shouldnt be writing to the ecu, let alone in a way that would trip a safe mode.

In every case where it went into limp mode it had a bus error when I scanned for error codes. That was my hint to turn the timing adjustment function on. I've never had any issues with the SEL/ECU problems others have noted. I've also never had my ECU flashed by the dealer. Maybe a newer ECU build wouldn't have this problem?
