There is both, The MAP is used to control idle, and the MAF is used for fuel calculations.

Is there a replacement that reads higher levels?

Going off the parts-bin method, I would assume there are subaru replacement sensors that read 2 bar or even 3 bar.

All locked in for Monday. John is coming to test and he'll be available as well to flash his stg1 packages. Anyone within driving distance should consider driving over. Oh and did I mention we'll be dyno testing 2 turbo cars. One FRS and one BRZ.

Ive always wondered, is there a point to having that big of a core if part of it is blocked off from airflow anyways? Doesn't seem like it would be doing all that much.

Yes and no. Although it would be nice to have airflow over the entire piece, it is still a heat sink and cooling half of it still cools the whole thing. Luckily aluminum has great thermal transfer across itself.

Secondly you can only push so much air through the smaller core. This core is more for moving cfm than cooling. Overkill for where the car is in its current state.

yes,

but they would require scaling to work with the EGR system correctly.

The four main variables to optimizing a heat exchanger system like and air to air intercooler are frontal area, mass flow rate of ambient air, distribution of ambient air across frontal volume, and fin design.

Just because the frontal area isn't directly open does not mean you can't duct air to be distributed across the face.

Looks like I'll be sticking to a good ole standard boost gauge. Speaking of which, are there any pillars available yet?
