2013 motor into 2016 FRS?
I did a search and found quite a few posts going the OTHER way 2015+ into a 2013.
But this is a 2016 FRS with a dead motor. I have a turbo motor from a 2013 FRS that I want to install into the 2016. The 2013 car is complete, but the body damage repair needed makes it more cost effective for me to pick up the 2016. So I have two complete cars. Thus am hoping I have all the parts I need to complete the swap with very little additional $$ outlay. In an idea world, I could swap the ecu, instrument cluster, etc. over from the 2013 to the 2016 as well since the 2013 has been extensively tuned via Drift Office using ECUTEK. But I think that's a long shot. Ideally I want to keep the better ignition coils and harness of the 2016. Actually I want to do as little work as needed yet get the better car when I'm finished. Any and all comments, including "You're crazy" are welcome. That is, as long as you tell me with technical detail why I may be crazy. Last edited by Four_wheel_drifts; 02-21-2021 at 01:03 PM. I think it's possible but you're gonna have some tinkering to get the wiring to work as some of the plugs changed. I'm not sure what else but it's possible

2013 motor into 2016 FRS?
Lol I have been watching that car too. I THINK you would have to swap to a pre-15’ engine harness. Not completely sure.

Reading the swaps that go the other way, there are parts on the front of the engine that I’d have to swap from the ‘16 to the ‘13.
Pm me. I’d like to hear how your race car build is progressing. |
