Updated the bayson R lip to the OEM STI lip ... and got the 4th brake light installed with strobe (when brake is pressed). I went with this LED bulb to keep the OEM look.

Did you remove the third brake light or did you manage to clean inside that some other way?

No removal just worked around it. Maybe next time.
On another topic, why would you use white primer under black paint!

Oh, yes... my washer fluid is still full. I've never topped it off... Not sure I can say the same about the radiator.

Unsure if anything pushed into the crank - for better or worse, the Nameless header will tell the tale clearly (and is also likely toast). If hit, even the engine is done. If not, someone may get to have some fun with it. Unlikely the repair costs are worthwhile for me. Alignment looked good, car rolled fine. Holy nasty bruise from the seat-belt.

Stay safe out there.
Really sorry for your loss. If there's no engine damage, it looks like $10K to me, having done similar but not quite so bad damage to mine.

The Primacies lasted 37K (Lord, will these never wear out?) and today came home with BFG g-Force Comp-2 A/S in a tiny, tiny upsize to 225/45, same wheels. The first 35 miles were quiet and solid with much improved steering feel.

Onward!

Sure is, glad to know I am not crazy as I could not find anything on here about it. Initially I thought it was just a specific design aimed at their SC kit, allowing for a boost pipe to be run between the duct and the centerline. I wrote Speedfactory and they said according to HKS it flows better than the original HKS snorkel design and has the added benefit of working with the SC kit. I figured I would try it out as I doubt there is any real measurable performance difference between the original and the new one, but if I wind up going FI in the future I should be able to make it work with the SBD setup.

I am also waiting to hear if the Innovated Dynamics intake duct reaches all the way to the factory air box. If not, I can feed it into the HKS duct and seal it with some sort of foam gasket and have a legit ram air feeding directly into the factory air box or at least funneling right at the cone/mushroom filter if I go the turbo route.

Install of the HKS duct was about as easy as it gets (aside from the bumper clips or course) it weighs less than a pound (.7 IIRC) and it seals up with the factory air box well with the supplied gasket. It is hard to justify $180 for a piece of plastic that couldn't cost more than $3 to make, but considering the documented performance of their duct combined with a drop in filter and silicone intake tube, the total cost/performance is on par with the other CAI options - so whatever.

Initial estimate is $12k without airbags/dash or fixing the paint scratches (the chain-link was all the way to the back window) and paint/blend on new parts. Idler pulley was hit, chance the oil pan was hit; unless the timing cover was cracked those should be a fairly straight-forward replace. It sounds like it is fixable, just maybe not worthwhile to pay someone to do all the work.

Whee. As you say, onward!

WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR BRZ TODAY?

Ditched the OFT and got a custom ECUTek tune from Steve at PRT Performance. Also got some red Bride interior bits as a thank you gift for helping another DFW86 member install his exhaust.

Installed some STi-R lenses in my stock headlights, and tuned the shields for best cutoff, then installed an OEM license plate bracket and some Subaru "STi" valve stem caps since my car didnt have any when I got it.

Next lighting mod is new Osram CBI D4S bulbs to replace the faded 4 year old stock ones. I also have a set of Baja Designs Fog lights to install to do a write up on for the company.
