I think finch is on to something with the tags. I assumed in this instance NFC meant something other than near field communication because I hadn't considered(or known) about an external switching mechanism. I'll look into this more. Thanks Finch

Look up the app called Tasker as well.
I use it to automate tons of things.

I have "automate" but I couldn't figure out how to disable the LED which is really the only thing I want to do automatically. Id be satisfied with a single click on my phone, I just don't want to sort thru menus to disable/enable it twice a day

Some apps just won't have access to all the hardware to disable something like that without root access.
So it might not be possible within that app.

Unless you're rooted... Which opens up many more possibilities.

I am. Just couldn't find an option. I can"turn notifications off" but it either didn't work or it doesn't disable the LED
