They really do like their orange stitching. Although it is also my one niggly point about the Hakone and appears they did again on this. They did stitching on the seats, steering wheel and console but the door panels are just normal black. Sort of looks unfinished.

Was pretty much a given they would do something to the interior but it is nice to have it confirmed.
Some stitching doesn't sound like much but it does make a real difference.

Yeah, IMO, I think it makes quite a bit of a difference in looks. That was another disappointment for me with the second gen, where they greatly reduced the amount of stitching around the interior.

So how does Toyota handle orders for their special editions? I remember when the last orange 30th Anniversary Miata launched, Mazda put it up on their website for reservation. You could go on and secure one, and I believe all the reservations were snatched up almost instantly. Does Toyota do it that way, or do you have to try and work through a dealership to secure one? Thanks!

Dealership and even then it is hit and miss at best. Anybody that doesn't already have their name on one is probably out of luck unless they are completely in the right place at the right time.

Thank you. I figured as much. I will likely pass since I can't stomach playing the dealership games. For me, they rank up there with dentists as places I hate visiting!

There are good ones and bad ones just like any other business. My dealer jumped through hoops and performed some sort of magic to get me a Hakone where others would have just said forget it.

Agreed. I was definitely being unfair. I have dealt with some excellent dealerships over the years. In fact, my last interaction with an out-of-state dealership on a vehicle purchase was an excellent one. My negative dealings have just cast a shadow over the good experiences, which is unfortunate.

Kinda felt obligated to get the "10th anniversary" since I had a 2013. Dealership says I'm #1 on the list for the great pumpkin!! I'll take whatever transmission they get.
