Keep on eye on your hood when reaching high speeds though. You may notice it lifting due to air being forced more into the bay.

I guess I'm not following you... I see it as airflow being diverted through the radiator as opposed to directly into the engine bay... Also, I figure the hood vents will help to relieve any sort of pressure that could potentially lift the hood at high speeds.

Hood vents! Then you're good. This was an issue with a friend's car until he got the vented hood.

Drove the 86 yesterday with the radiator packing installed... Outside temp was @91-93°F. My coolant temps never passed 220°F...It hit 220° while driving away from wind. I hit 227-228°F in lower outside temps the other day.

I probably averaged @212-213°F...reached temps in the upper 190°F range while driving into a headwind. Overall, I think blocking off the sides of the radiator made my temps lower and more stable.

I wasn't with HKS when our kit was installed, but today we took off the bumper to see how it was set up with the HKS intake box. Our car *does* have the HKS intake on it, but it is cut to fit just like you'd have to do with the stock intake. Take a look.

Also, where can we buy more traction fluid? Mine leaks from the seal on the top of the container. I need to find another rubber seal or something.

Any HKS dealer can get traction fluid.

Or for cold weather climates:

Thanks for the update... I could have done that but chose not to... Too bad the fitment requires cutting.

Maybe down the line if I can acquire a used one I'd cut it.

So, the part I'm lost on are the pulley upgrades. If I'm running the V3 kit what options for pulley upgrades do I have and how exactly do they affect everything? I tried looking it up but this is about the only place we have info for our setup

You have the e85 upgrade pulley which will require you to run the DW 700cc injectors, upgraded fuel pump and e85. However, if you're not running hks tune, you can just buy smaller pulley, any injectors and get a retune.

If you ever decide you want one, hit me up. I'll sell you mine very reasonably just to keep it from taking up space on a shelf in my garage.

I'm trying to find the e85 kit from HKS. Is this just something that gets made by buying individual parts or is there an actual option from HKS?

You need 3 parts.

HKS 12002-KK001 Pulley Upgrade Kit
Deatschwerks 16U-02-0700-4 700cc Injectors
Deatschwerks 9-651-1010 Fuel Pump

The DW parts are what is recommended by HKS, but equivalent parts from another brand would work just the same. The only HKS part you need is the pulley. The pulley kit will also include a new belt.
