If you are still having a little trouble with the rear of the car you can have them add a smidge of toe in at the rear. The subframe inserts will help with rear end feel. The sti mounts and diff inserts will just take lash out of the drive train.

I actually already have a bit of toe-in. But I may play with the alignment a bit this year.

I've always just had this sense of surprise when the rear steps out, as if I can barely feel it coming. Especially painful in the wet. Not expecting any miracles with the inserts, but I hear good things. But I think more important is reducing that floaty feeling in the back end in general.

Looking forward to reducing the lash as well. That's been a longtime complaint of mine, especially off throttle.

That is odd. Your setup isn't that far off my old setup except you are not running aftermarket sways that I can see in your build sheet. My setup was always pretty communicative at the limit.

Probably just the difference in skill/experience! You're quite a bit faster than me I have a great feel for the front end, so not sure what could be. I also need to double check my ride heights since I have a sneaking suspicion I'm running a little too much rake.

I did try running some rake before and stopped. I don't remember what I didn't like about it. I do remember it was around a 1/4 inch, maybe a little more.

Back to NA

..and it's glorious. Runs smooth as butter, revs out much more happily, and is so much more drivable, especially around town. I couldn't be happier. This is this car I remember! Putting the JRSC up for sale shortly. PM if interested.

Interesting to note that while I was having my tie rod boot replaced, Doug noticed that the collar on the steering rack had chipped. I think I remember hearing that crunch when making a tight turn into the pits after a session. No idea how that could've happened. He took this photo:

How do you like the steering rack lockouts?

They were a mild upgrade. If anything you get just a touch more road feel in the steering wheel. Not a night and day difference but enough to be worth it.

I remember when I traded in my supercharged FR-S for the BRZ and added the NA bits I wanted, I enjoyed the car significantly more. I can wring it out with no worries at all. I'm glad you're happy with how the car is now.

With everything that's happened with respect to your JRSC experience, do you think you'd enjoy something like, say, a JDL kit with a fairly small GTX2860R?

The reason I say this is because I keep thinking of the low-speed bucking/hesitation associated with the JRSC and that would definitely not be a problem with the turbo setup.

A smaller spoolie boy would also avoid shifting the powerband too high up in the rpm range and with proper tuning it need not fall on its face in the upper rpm either.

Thoughts?

I think I’ve been one of the very few to have the bucking issue. It was definitely tune related as certain versions of my tunes seemed not to have any issues. I’m sure if I spent enough time I could’ve figured it out.

I haven’t generally been interested in a turbo setup given the added cost of heat management. I think I’d have even less peace of mind than the simple JR setup.

Turbo setups look fun, but I’m really happy with how the car feels with just the A350 and the fantastic tune it is currently on. Feels plenty quick on its feet around town, and has the perfect amount of speed to develop as a driver on track.

I also just picked up a B8.5 S4, so I’ve got my 3.0 supercharged V6 for daily driving thrills

Went out for a lengthy solo drive with the new (old) NA setup. Definitely a blast to wring every last pony out! Sounds great at redline too. I had a good little run with a Veloster N who was also out in the twisties. That thing was properly quick.

Well, the time has come.

I'm currently returning the car back to stock to get it ready for sale. Many emotions! This has been a fantastic car. I'm just ready for a new project.

I'll be listing the following if anyone wants to call dibs before I get around to it. Just PM me.

- CSG ceramic coated (inside and out) ACE A350 header
- Jackson Racing NA oil cooler
- Perrin catback (looking for a stocker if anyone wants to trade + cash)
- Perrin steering rack lockdowns
- STi engine mounts (new in box)
- Whiteline diff inserts (new in box)
- Whiteline subframe inserts (new in box)

This is actually pretty sad; really loved this car as it had a very clean and purposeful look to it.

What is the reason for the sale? Are you moving on to a Cayman?
