How do I report a potential fraud seller on this site?

The issue has been resolved. I am unused to and nervous around online transactions. I over reacted to the situation. I apologize. That said I think it is wrong not to inform your buyer that you are using someone else's paypal account in advance.

I am keeping my original post below for context.

Seller gave me completely different name than the one that popped up on paypal after I made payment. No indication from the seller that this would be the case. Paypal has refunded me the money, but that is shady as shit.

Is there more to the story than just a different name? Could be loads of reasons to have a different name on Paypal.

They a member here? Is there a for sale thread?

When did he say he shipped? It has only been a few days since you said you PMed.

If it shows up will you pay him or return it?

Lol that's normal. Someone give you an email, after you send payment it will display whatever is it they choose it to say. For instance if you buy from a shop/company, they give you and email, then after you pay it will say $$$ was sent to fuckboi shop

I've had that happen multiple times. Never was an issue, did you even talk to the seller?

His handle on FT86club may not be the same he uses for everything else (games/forums/reddit/etc). There's no requirement for his paypal name to be the same so I'm unsure why that would indicate a shady transaction.

Amazon does this everyday. They send the order to the person who actually has the item.
Not all of the orders, but a significant number.

Lol thanks guys
I had him send the money to my gf's brother's PayPal account
Not sure what the big fuss is about....

Gave him my full name, address, and phone number

Sends the funds and starts freaking out about name not matching and that I'm not an honest seller....

Told him not to worry and I'll even ship it out a day earlier than the initial agreed on shipping date by leaving work in the middle of the day just so I can get it shipped out to him as soon as possible

So shipped it out today during lunch and sent him the tracking number before I even left the Purolator building.

He says he will release the funds as soon as he looks at the diff.

Did I do anything wrong?

Pretty sure I would have said forget it and not shipped at all. Not to be vindictive or anything but if he freaks out and cancels payment just because the name is different he will probably freak out over any little thing. He hasn't even retracted his comments.

Nope. @jackblack21 was being cautious as Nigerian princes have eroded the underlying principle of trust throughout the world with their funds transfer issues online. I don't think @qwerty66 is a Nigerian prince so you should be good to go.

I agree I over reacted. But not revealing to your buyer that you are using a different paypal account than the one that belongs to you is wrong. The point of paypal is to verify the identity of the parties involved to through paypal. So that in the event of dispute the correct parties can be contacted. If you use someone else’s paypal then you are hiding your Verified identity

The issue has however been resolved and I will be amending my posts.

Again I did panic, that was my fault. But I think I had valid reason to worry as I was never informed that the seller was using someone elses paypal account to receive money.

So do you freak out and cry fraud when you buy something online and the paypal address is in someone's personal name, and not the online store's name?

Correct me if I'm wrong but Paypal was not invented so you could find out the exact identity of the seller. It is to have a safe buying experience where Paypal will step in and help you out if the item is incorrect or you never receive it. It's not a verified Facebook... Either way, it's resolved and that's fantastic.
