Can someone explain this? Not sure what all this means.

Aren't those super expensive? Like over $1K? Is there a company/website you know of that makes good ones for cars?

Sure, you can change the cams to give it more power in that range but at what cost? If it were purely a win-win, don't you think Toyota/Subaru would have done that to begin with? And the DAVCS is continuously variable valve timing so I didn't think there is a crossover area. It's not like a two-stage lift VTEC or something.

Looks tight with the helmet on

At 5'11" with 31" inseam I found I had a good 3-4" above my head when the seat was about an inch above its bottom-most position, sitting reasonably upright. (I did not bottom the seat out because the wheel then blocked the gauges when it was set to my preferred position.)

I'm 6'4" with a tall torso. I also like an upright seating position. With the seat moved all the way down I had maybe a couple inches between my head and the ceiling. Enough to get a helmet on. And I could compromise and lean the seat back a click or two to get more headroom.

Overall, I don't think you're going to have any problems.

They can be expensive if they're vehicle-specific, however there are options out there for prices not too far away from premium lead-acid brands. Just wait and see what the vendors come up with.

You're thinking of Lithium Polymer, which isn't appropriate for automotive use. Lithium Iron Phosphate is what I'm talking about, and when designed correctly they're drop-in replacements with zero maintenance on a daily-driven car.

Yup. As hobbyists will tell you, even storing LiPo's in your car is a bad idea. Unless they're in one of my models currently in use they're sitting in an insulated fiberglass bag.

Well I'm short (5'9") so this answers my question of how easy will it be in there with a helmet. Thanks!

I'm thinking this car will be classed in C Stock/STX year one. I've been bugging the NYR chair about this and he said no classing until cars are at dealers lol.

That headrest design will likely be a deal breaker to me. They are canted forward to prevent whiplash in an average height male (5'9", actually). It's a NHTSA regulation. Unfortunately the design also causes neck pain to shorter people. I'm 5'5", and I can't find a comfortable adjustment in most rental cars. Leaning the seat back just makes you lean back more while your neck is still cranked, and you cannot remove them and flip them around backwards.

In one of the video reviews the guy mentioned the headrest and even said he would just flip them around. So I was under the impression you could.

I hope so. It's all conjecture at this point about the BRZ. Next time you rent a car see if you can do it. The notches on the posts don't line up with the catch / clicky button adjuster on the side. So instead I end up ratcheting the headrest as high as it goes. Even if you could flip it around, why bother even having one at all? Less protection than the pre- 2006 headrests. It's a feature that is keeping me from buying a new car, well that plus the fact I still like my beat up old car.
For comparison, see the Impreza, which actually appears to have a fore/ aft tilt adjustment range.
And for tall drivers, I bet someone will make lower seat brackets for this car. These cars seem made to be modified.

Safety first! I have never had a problem but I always inspect my packs and consider where they're being stored/transported/etc.
