Radium Catch cans have been great as well, they are VERY easy to install - it's just a bunch of tubing. You don't really have to have any special skills to do this - just read the instructions and turn some bolts.

I guess the biggest deterrence for me at this point is living in an apartment without a garage. Does this come with a tune? And everything I'd need to plug into the ODB port and flash it? |

It does come with a base tune from Perrin along with an EcuTek license and the cable to flash it. you'll just need a laptop to perform that tune.

I only have a Mac so I hope that'll work. Could you give me a rough ball park estimate of what installation of one of these would cost by a pro?

I do know a custom tune, which you should strongly look into after making sure everything is working correctly, could set you back $500 - $1000 depending on the tuner.

No problem! Could you recommend a tuner? Or at least how to go about finding one? There are no tuners in my vicinity so it'd have to be done over the internet if possible

One, have you seen this? [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=se5LVsiTfvo"]Review | Supercharged Vortech Scion FR-S BRZ Install | Part 1 of 3 - YouTube[/ame] It's a build log of the vortech install. They run into a lot of problems with the instructions. Has this been mostly smoothed over? Also, 69kmiles. Do you think that is too high to safely boost the car? Is there a mileage threshold that you would say it no longer makes sense to supercharge the car? Thanks for all your help! |

And one more I thought of! I plan on getting EL headers (probably going EL vs UEL but not 100% sure yet). Can I run any aftermarket headers with the vortech kit?

Yea, i've watched all of his videos. Some is good, some is not so good. I had very limited issues in my install, in fact, I really can't recall anything other than the windshield washer fluid bottle install, it's a little tricky. My kit was a v3, and I believe he had a v2, and there were lots of improvements between the two.
I dont think there's any reason not to boost at that mileage, you might just get more blow-by, which would make the catch cans more useful. I have had both aftermarket EL and UEL headers on my setup. I settled on the UEL Header from OpenFlash. No issues whatsoever, but it just makes one more case for getting a custom tune, as you can probably pick up more HP and Torque.
