Just to clarify, when I had wrote that I was using RCE's recommended "street" setting. I suppose I could dial back the rebound a click or two further, but it's livable for me as-is, so I haven't bothered.

It's no Lexus but it's tolerable for me. There is only so much dampers can do with 400 lbs springs to make a ride comfortable. It is certainly well damped. I'm actually on the recommended track settings but don't have to drive the car every day #racecar

On the track, it handles grip levels of RS3 and NT01 with ease as I'm sure you've read.

@infinity21 Would you say it's a lot worse than stock in terms of comfort?

I have them. Love them. Noticably stiffer than stock, but nothing terrible. I DD mine. The damping is much better - even if stiffer they ride better, if that makes any sense. Handles potholes better when at speed despite being stiffer. Tires also make a big difference in driveability. Used to have Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym 2 tires, wore them out and switched to MPSS. Overall better tire - in addition to gripping better in wet/dry, they ride much better too. They definitely lean to the 'sporting' side vs comfort side, but it's only a problem for me when I'm going over really bad road terrain (i.e. sections of roads that have been stripped and not repaved yet). With good tires + performance alignment the car is very responsive.

I daily my car and do about 250mi a day 6 days a week I did a ton of research before choosing the t2s they offer a oem+ ride I set it to the suggested settings and have not touched it again

I would absolutely recommend them they have improved the car 100% no drawbacks

Not a lot worse. Stiffer springs is somewhat mitigated by better damping. I've sat in cars on OEM shocks that were more uncomfortable because the shocks couldn't handle track abuse.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but can RCE or anybody link me
To the suggested street settings? My T2s are a bit harsh for my daily liking....great for canyons and looking forward to tomorrow’s first autoX outing on them

Look in here:

Go a 4 or so clicks softer than whats' in there on REBOUND for an even softer ride. Rebound adjustment affects ride much more noticeably.

Could you clarify - the document says “(front) 10 turns from FULL STIFF”. I understand that “full stiff” would be all the way clockwise, correct? And “full soft” would then be all the way counterclockwise.

So is the suggested setting starting from full counterclockwise then turning 10 clicks clockwise?

I just want to make sure because I could read that I’m supposed to go full CLOCKWISE (stiff) then go BACK 10 clicks toward counter??

Sorry for my confusion

Correct, turn to full stiff (clockwise), then count backwards in the counter-clockwise direction.

I (finally) installed my Tarmac 2 last week, and used the recommended compression/rebound settings. I'm using Beatrush top hats front and rear (with custom adapters). I got these coilovers because I'm switching to STX from DS this year. Research and personal recommendations led me to RCE T2s. My use-case is 4-5 hr highway trips for autox on the weekends, and commuting around town during the week.

Over the weekend, I drove 4 hrs to Chicago for autox, took top spot in STX, then drove 4 hrs home. I was worried about the ride quality on 7k springs, but my concerns were largely unfounded. It was perfectly comfortable for interstate driving; I'd go as far as saying better than stock. Even on my crap local roads, the comfort is very good. On small imperfections (like expansion joints), it is an improvement. On larger imperfections at low speed, it is stiffer and can be a little jarring, but not unacceptable for me.

This morning I turned the rebound down 2 clicks, and the compression down 1 click, and it is very comfortable. It is basically perfect for my short commute.

My only issue is that my Cusco sway bar rubs on the lower control arm, even with a modest drop in ride height. I ordered some shorter end-links to hopefully resolve that issue.

Overall I am a happy customer, and would recommend these to someone looking for a competitive coilover that is still comfortable on the street.

I've had the RCE T2s with Vorshlag top mounts installed for about a month at recommended damper settings. The roads in San Antonio make many third-world countries look fantastic in comparison, and yet I find them tolerable. You'll certainly feel it (especially considering I did all the bushings too), but all in all it's completely tolerable. And when you find a nice curvy road and open it up or head out for a track day, it's definitely worth it. I'm very happy with the coilovers

@Racecomp Engineering How does ride height affect comfort? Like the lower you go on T2's does the ride quality become more harsh? I currently have mine about 45mm lower than stock and was thinking about raising it back up some.
