Well I finally got under the dashboard and had a look around. The motor comes out in about 1 minute but after that it becomes a real hassle. Getting that cooling unit out is a heckuva project that I'm not sure I'm up to, you can't even see some of the screws that hold things in. I'm just going to pull the drain hose again and this time I'll stick a long pipe cleaner up there and see if it maybe unblocks whatever is causing the water to back up and run onto the passengers feet. Maybe I should stick the compressor spray nozzle in there and give it couple of shots...

I'm sorry. Spent all last weekend removing the dashboard on the Camry to replace the little IR sensor for the climate control. It's a daunting task but not awful if following the book. I could probably do it again in a half day.

I think that laying on my back, twisted into shape to fit under there and see is annoying enough that I probably won't end up dismantling everything. Since my heart attack if my head ends up below my shoulders for more than a few seconds I get super dizzy and if I stand up will fall over, that makes it pretty unpleasant. If I had a lift and could just lean in I'd be more inclined to take the time and effort to do it. For now I'm going to pull the drain hose and see if some Bubba solutions work, if not I'll probably suck it up and start taking shit apart because I can imagine the dealer charging hundreds to do it.

The truth is even worse. Right next to it is a hole for the optional automatic headlight sensor. That fixture pops right out. The retaining clip for the infrared sensor must be squeezed from underneath. Prying from the top destroys it.
