EPS ECU replacement

I read the procedure for replacing the EPS ECU, and it says to perform an assist map writing with Techstream.
What is it?
I'm asking because I'm replacing my EPS ECU with STi/tS one.
Thank you!

It seems that that procedure is standard on Techstream, and it is listed for 86 too, even if it doesn't work.
