In a contest for the worst place for corrosion to set in, it's a tossup between that plate and the tail lights.

I lift that plate to clean it and the rubber strip a couple times a year. I know it's a super cheap part but I follow my feels.

The big difference is that you keep cars forever. To me they are disposable so I just don't sweat the little things. Besides I could clean that strip daily and it would still look almost the same due to the salt.

As soon as the driver in front of me sprays his windshield, that whole area gets coated with grime.

I recently installed some new fog lamps as my old ones shattered (probably due to road debris). These new ones are a 3-in-1 combo, DRL/fog lamp/turn signals. I didn't realize how bad the sun affected the GIFs I made but oh well, here's what I got:

If anyone is interested I'll upload better shots/videos.

No worries. I've removed the compromised structure and replaced with new materials.

Every time I've seen your car I could plant corn in all the dirt in the trunk jam.

The wiring is 1/2 way there. I'm going to move the OBD2 port so it's more convenient and I may put a fan in blowing on the electric steering motor. I could run it off the AC switch.

They sure do like their black tape! I'm not a fan, it's all coming out.
