While you have that apart, see if you can figure out what would be buzzing in the upper left corner of the dash, at almost any speed, so I'm sure it's not vibration related. It stops buzzing with any pressure on the gas pedal.

I'm pretty sure I know the one you're talking about. Just smack it with an open palm!

It's large! But it's not my garage...It's a corner I've been allotted at my workplace.

I've been on my best behaviour

I was kidding. There's buzzing, creaks and various noises all over when gutted.

I'll bet it's something vibrating. I had that under the keyless entry box on the read deck. I got really lucky finding it.

I spent the evening detailing the underside of the car while its parked for winter:
Foam gun'd, scrubbed with a detailing brush every inch I could reach, rinsed, waxed the underside, treated all the rubber.
I think it looks pretty new for being six years old...

After owning a Datsun 240z, I still have nightmares of rust creeping up on me.

I should get some pictures of mine to show the other end of the spectrum!
People would be traumatized though.

Probably couldn't identify it with all the underneath bits you've lost on the highway?

When I changed my battery I had to clean a 1/4" of actual mud out of the bottom of the tray.

You asked for it. Not crawling underneath in the ice and snow but the engine bay will give you a good idea of what underneath looks like.
