I won't know until tomorrow, but I'm assuming it will turn out fine. I used the same repair procedure on the passenger side about a month ago and it works great.
For the repair I use a nut that's the same thread as the adjuster bolt. Then I stuff it into the black rectangle thing that snaps into the silver part of the headlight that the projector bolts to. Next I fill the black rectangle thing with JB Weld so the nut will never come loose. Now I'm at the stage where I have to wait for the JB Weld to cure before I can put it all back together. I told myself last month that I should probably do the driver's side while I had the bumper off to repair the passenger side, but at the time it was still working fine, so I left well enough alone. Prepping for sound deadening/seam sealer removal. Some extra cables and wiring will be removed and stored too.

Today I put my headlight back in. While installing it I noticed that there is infact a side to side adjustment and not just up/down like they want you to believe. Toyota/Subaru was pretty sneaky and hid it under a cap and made it hard to see/reach unless you take the headlight out. It's the silver circle on the left in the pic below:
When that was done I installed the rear shocks and lower control arms that I was too lazy to do last night. My only complaint is I wish the Eibach Pro Kit dropped the rear a little more so the car would be level. Last edited by Face_Plant; 01-25-2019 at 01:23 AM. |

Today I tried to test out my new suspension, but the alignment was so off that I couldn't make it to the end of the street. Anything over 10 MPH made the back end feel like it was hopping, so I decided to try a rough home alignment using the string method
As you can see, the rear tires were severely toed in (I measured about 1.5 inches from the tire to the string). The front tires had some toe too, but it wasn't as severe as the rear. Reducing camber fixed the toe enough that I can drive it for a few days until my alignment. Last edited by Face_Plant; 01-25-2019 at 10:00 PM. |

You've never seen that method before? I thought it was pretty well known? I didn't want to just eyeball it since it's going to be a few days until my alignment, so I wanted to make it at least somewhat acceptable so I could drive the car.

You can measure between the 2 wheels on the axle too but that will only make them parallel, not necessarily straight to the car
