I have asked multiple times to work from home but have been denied because "it promotes collaboration" and "you aren't high ranked enough".

For us 12 hour workers, it would be a godsend because of traffic...

Yeah. My job isn't finished when I've been there 8 hours. It's finished when it's finished. I don't mind the hours as much as I mind driving during rush hour.

One good thing about night shifts, less traffic going to work compared to AM.. at least in my situation.

2 hours compared to 45min, I'll take it. And going back home, it's 15-20... 5-10 if I decided to drive like an asshat.

Hint #3 The english equivalent comes from the book "Hecatomythium" (it was written in latin and was a book composed of hundreds of fables) written in the late 15th century in the fable titled "A Country-man and a River". (This clue might make this too easy)
