These GPUs get me all amped up for some reason.. (although ironically I can only read amps off the battery not external power)

i believe he's still looking in/near the city, and most cities have regulations against such buildings. the powers-that-be believe they look ugly.

You should add step #6 inbetween all the other steps.

That is actually a big problem here. Even outside the city it is an issue. You have building code issues with the traditional foundation slab once you get into residential side of a pole barn style shop-house. There is also the issue of no basement in tornado alley.

The major problems though are with the banks. Because they are looked down on they aren't considered a good investment for some reason so gathering a loan is nigh impossible without 60%+ down.

Personally I think they are beautiful options and much better than 90% of the <150k starter homes that were built 60 years ago.

yup. houses are much more status for a lot of people, where the garage is barely talked about at all, if ever.

i don't care how the bedroom's decorated, the lights are off when i use it!

I just put 1" spacers on my new truck. It looks WAY better! Lol.

I'm stoked on the Falkin wildpeak tires it came with! They grip fantastic, they are quiet, and give the civil Ridgeline a little bit of an agressive look!

We live in an added-to double brick house from the 50s. Our house is one of the few in the area that is still in its original style. Most of the houses around here are relatively new, having been built on the blocks where old houses used to be. Many of the homes are trophy houses, that is, properties to show off how much money you have without necessarily having any taste. They are ginormous, totally useless for a two people.

Some time ago mum was invited to a nearby house and was told the children aren't allowed in that particular room, that's for guests to socialize. Mum struggled to say anything positive about the place and hasn't been asked back.

If/when our place gets sold it is 99% probable it will get torn down so something modern can be put up.

A house doesn't make a home.

yep. i always tell the new guy's that are all wowed by the new/remodeled houses, none of them really impress me. seeing it more and more where people jam specific features into houses that don't fit at all with the layout. japanese entryway, greek pillars, italian arches. houses really lack 'flow' anymore. the few new houses i've been in in the last few years, it makes more sense to look at every room as a 'compartment' than a complete house.

just had one where the contractor had to talk the customer out of a roll-up kitchen window for serving drinks out to the patio. the customer had no concept that the roll up windows seal up like a ragged thong, and midwest winters exist. but he had seen it on a california house tv show and wanted the functionality...

They should sell all of those, and then maybe they'd have a down payment on a nice pair of speakers.

Nicer looking, but not nicer sounding. I love cheap speakers. They do the job without all the flamboyance, fanfare, and useless exotic materials.

I sorta hate the klh's on the bottom. They were free, but keep them around as a reminder of a misspent youth in best buy playing their demo disc far louder than anyone should have...

Seems like no matter which "Smart" TV I look at, with maybe the exception of a ROKU TV, it never has all the apps I want. Our new LG, which runs WebOS, has it's own store and is missing two apps we use, Acorn.tv and lifetime. Because of those two we still have to have a FireStick on the TV. It also doesn't have SteamLink, but I have the physical SteamLink box for that.

Around here the few guys I know that have places that are pole barns with living quarters had to cheat the system a bit. You have to have a residential building on the lot before you can build more structures. A garage with a living space doesn't count as a primary dwelling. So they bring in a cheap mobile home to sit on the property, then haul it off when the inspections are done. I really like the idea and most of them have very simple living spaces which I have come to appreciate. I don't know how they all financed them, at least one of them was done cash.

Didn't think about needing a basement where you live. That changes things a bit.
