I pulled out the one that wasn't working, sure enough the filament is broken. I dont want to get led bc I have never found it cool to have extremely bright/visible license plate. If a cop is behind me at night, his lights will illuminate the plate, I dont really see the point of buying new e6 bulbs for the lp light. I would be aghast if anyone ever noticed my lp lights were out
Aren't those like 7 bucks for a pair? Why take the risk over $7.

Went to the boss's home for wine tasting this afternoon.Tried maybe 20 different wines, didn't spit many of them. I haven't been this drunk in a long time. Thing is, I remember I used to go out 2 maybe 3 times a week and get smashed anf only suffer a mild hang over the next day.

F*ck this getting old shit.

I got pulled over a few months ago for the license plate lights being out on my Suburban. Cop just said "hey both your plate lights are out, you need to get that fixed" and then we were both on our way. Mind you this was when driving through a small town in GA on my normal commute.

I did replace mine with LEDs on the Suburban just because I don't care if folks can read my plate.

I have been pulled over for no plate lights 3 or 4 times over the years. At least a couple of them I didn't even know they were out. Seems like it is a popular trigger for a traffic stop no matter where you are. Since I am a strong believer of 'if you give them a reason to pull you over they will pull you over' and it is an easy fix I would never knowingly drive around without them.
No sense handing them an engraved invitation.

Pretty much my thinking as well. I didn't know mine were out either. I mean, how often are you even going to notice these, or even more importantly your brake lights, are out? I never see them. I usually check them if I have to change another bulb (turn signals or headlights) but not always.

I check my brake lights whenever I am backed near a reflective surface such as a store window. I never look at the plate lights though. Don't think I have had to change a bulb in any of my cars in the last 20 years. Not like the old school bulbs where you kept a box of them in the glovebox since they blew on a regular basis.

I have to change bulbs a couple of times a year, but that's primarily because I keep cars 10 years or longer.

The Suburban is now LEDs all around, except for the headlights. I particularly like the backup lights now, which are bright enough so they actually illuminate something. The low beams in it (which are also DRLs) tend to last about 24 months. Seriously considering replacing them with H1 LEDs the next time they go out.

I recently had to change the license plate bulbs in our '05 Mustang (first time). Oddly enough it's never had to have a headlight, turn signal or tail light bulb replaced.

The FRS I've had to replace low beam bulbs twice (I change both when one burns out) but they are now LEDs.

Bulb burns out I buy a new car.
Tires wear out. New car.
Brakes wear out. New car.

Any issues converting halogens to LEDs (assuming that's what you did)?

Good call. You may drive the car forever and never get pulled over but their is no sense tempting a bored cop that has nothing better to do by waving a "pick me" flag at him.

I know several people that have done it with various different vehicles. Those that cheeped out and bought low end kits from Ebay had nothing but issues. The ones that bought decent ones from reputable sources had zero issues. It is one of those things where "You get what you pay for" seems to be extremely accurate.
