Reading some of the comments about the different cars, performances etc, it's obvious to me that Andrew and Sam have the handling sorted for their cars. Bill's car is still being dialed in, and from Christy's blog, it's very difficult to drive fast when you are continually making changes and are not sure what the car is going to do.
When I built my MX5, it took about 18 months to get it dialed in, and it took me about that much time to get used to RWD after driving AWD for many years. So, you put Andrew in a well sorted car, on courses that are not too slow, and not too fast, and the result is not surprising. As for moving the cars to STR, well, you would need to move STC there as well, since they were faster than STX. A lot of that comes down to the courses. And great job Dave in that video... you seemed mildly excited at the finish I think we all dream of having that feeling occasionally, which is why we keep doing this sport. -Max. Too funny... I'm sorry. When you first posted that weren't Holly, I was going to come on here and apologize to Shelly, realizing that Holly drove Andrew's car which is red, so it must be Shelly. I totally forgot that another guy drove Sam's car!
I'll shutup now, before I dig myself a bigger hole and consider yourself owed a beer at Nats |

HI!
Haven't posted my video yet, but I get excited like Dave does ...and he would have been driving my car if it wasn't being operated on currently lol I agree with his assessment though...everything the FR-S does great in RT set up when dialed in is just a little bit better in STX set up. Andrew's car was the most fun I've had when not in a Corvette or Mustang |

Spring Nationals couldn't have gone better for the Strano Performance Parts team overall, and most especially the gang who drove the two FR-S's.
A lot of them were there in STX, by my count at the Tour it was 11 in Open and 3 in Ladies. I'm pretty proud to say that 3 of the top 4 were cars out of my shop. Andrew rocked it, and has been on fire. Take Andrew out and Santel would have won in my car on regular old gasoline the first event he ever drove one in STX trim. Maybe more proud than anything was Shelly jumping from Ladies to run Open and grabbing 6th!!! And all this on the "wrong" tire. I bought my car 1 year ago tomorrow, I bought it to develop setups and parts. We have not gone nearly as nuts as some have in terms of the number of parts. We have a little more to do, but the handling is, I think... pretty well nailed. You can feel free to get opinions from the others who on this site (Holly, Dave and Andrew... Shelly isn't and is maybe more biased than they are). |
