So, in your head.. racking up the mileage means enjoying it? People have been waiting for this car for YEARS AND YEARS. Of course some people will be babying it. Its just another way to enjoy the car.
These people aren't your friends, move on. Enjoy the car that way you want to, however don't put down other people for not respecting what you do. Criticism is part of the car world. Not everyone agrees. |

There's people with higher mileage on here.

It was just a strange topic to come up at a meet, I'm sure there's a lot of debate among owners since it's the current hype. But it shouldn't really be anyone else's concern how someone else's car is used, and to make a big deal out of it. It just seemed odd when someone who only has an interest in older euro cars to get offended. I didn't mean to put anyone down, it just seemed like that may be something among owners to debate about, just surprised to hear it coming from someone so unrelated to the car. |

If people give you a hard time for driving your car "too much", they'd really hate me. I bought mine as a daily driver, and plan on giving it a 5 month salt bath this winter...I hope it is up to the task. Oh yeah, I'm at 3875 KMs after 37 days of ownership.

No, not because of the mileage. But because 57 days from yesterday would've meant you got your car on the 9th of June and unless you got your car from the States I didn't think that was possible. I got mine 53 days ago and I was under the impression I was one of the first in Canada.
Anyway, nice thread. Nice to see what people are putting on their vehicles. |

~ 4400 km (~2700 mi). Got the vehicle when the first round arrived from preorder May 15, so 53 days. I have been driving home for lunch for weeks now and I NEVER used to do that. My usual mileage is about 20,000-22,000km per year12400-13600 mi).
I calculate I am driving at least 20% more than usual with this car. WAY more fun that my xB, though I really do enjoy the contrast of driving high up sometimes. Here in Canada, Scion is in it's second year in the market so I don't think it has that stigma of being known as a low-end brand as it appears to have in the US. I guess I am a good spokesperson for Scion having purchased 2 for myself in 7 months. I see it as a value/-priced or youth oriented line of a higher quality brand. Kinda the opposite of buying a Hyundau Equuis sedan, where you have the high end of a lesser brand. Scion makes me think of Toyota in the mid 80's when the AE86 was in the market and that was a really good era for the brand, IMHO.

First oil change should of been done at 3000km to remove and metals from engine break in, and second one should be at 8000km.
