$955 / yr (with multi-car + home + 20% discount) 28yr old male. Looks like I'm winning this race!

But just for the car itself with no multi-car rebates and other discounts I believe the average I was getting was $1400-$1600 from other companies like Bel-air etc.

You should be able to just call your insurance broker for an estimate.
I did that before I bought my car to figure out my expenses
I'm paying about $218 per month

I am paying just a little more than @Cliu91. Check out TD insurance. I've never seen cheaper

Comparing rates is just a waste of time unless you are exactly the same age, with exactly the same record and live in exactly the same neighbourhood.
You can see massive differences just by having addresses on the opposite sides of the same street!

just giving you a head up when i priced out the insurance difference between a 2014 frs and a 2014 brz it was about 480-500 difference annually. I ended up going with the subaru brz because it was cheaper up front and in the long run too. I'm paying around 2000 annually, full discount, 2 mil liability, 600 collision, 500 comp.

I would highly recommend lowering your collision deductible. You don't have much driving experience and i think it would be a wise decision on your part. To each their own though..

Check out RBC insurance.

Originally they were going to charge me $310/month, but apparently some new guidelines just rolled out (back in May) and they bumped it down to $180. I'm with RBC.

Except that most of us are in the GTA... which is for the most part pretty standard for insurance anyways.

I moved 3 blocks a few years ago and my insurance dropped by $500 a year because I moved from a "bad" area to a "good" area.
Now maybe you are all pretty close in your payments I bet there can be some pretty big differences just based on what part of the GTA you live in.

I'm in Guelph, and a nice area of Guelph. It's kind of 'burby without any apartments around, one townhouse complex, but it's kind of nice. Also outside of where most crime happens. Plus, it's also low because my car is insured as a "Pleasure Vehicle" because I don't commute in it.

Here comes an overly complicated reply...

The post you were replying to was replying to me about my insurance being the same as his, even though I have things on my record. You made a comment about BC insurance being different, even though in that situation, it has nothing to do with BC insurance, and everything to do with Ontario insurance.

Reading comprehension is your friend if you're going to go and quote someone who was making a specific reply to one person and make a remark about something which isn't the case.
