Toyota 86 Fuel Consumption

Hey guys so I recently bought a 2019 Toyota 86 GTS used from a dealer. I drive pretty well by always shifting below 3k and coasting whenever I can. However the gauge shows that I do 10.5L/100km. I drive half suburban and highway. Also when I unscrew the gas cap it makes a hissing noise? Is this normal?

You just made me convert from lkm to gpm and I guess I'm getting 12.97L/Km on average (30.5mpg) with a 2020 and the 4.3 rear on 93 octane (US, 98/100 UK equivalent gas). I also drive like an old grandma.

10.5L/Km is 24.7mpg and that seems like a number from a person with a little heavier foot but not too heavy. I know these things will get into the teens if you try to beat them to death.

Mine's running at just under 7l/100km on 98 and there is no vacuum when opening the cap. Sounds like a pinched breather. I am not overly gentle with it driving it so I get that little grin.

Breather? Do you guys vent your fuel vapors down there? Fuel tank should be under a slight vacuum.

Sounds about right, similar mileage for me when i run 91. On E85 i get 21mpg consistently but that’s a given since E85 burns faster

Has the car been turbocharged? Just asking as mine has been turbocharged with e85 conversion, bigger injectors, upgraded fuel pump, etc and I'm currently getting 10.6 L/100km.

There must be away that air is getting into the tank to maintain the "slight vacuum" or else it would become a big vacuum.
The recommended RON here in Aus is 98.

I learn more about engaging in these weird conversations than I do working on my own stuff. Until now I casually figured the intake manifold was the only inlet/outlet for evap. Looky there! Item-c is the fresh air line controlled by a vent valve.
