I believe (if it really is the new gr86/brz)it may be the Japanese version of the cars, that is why they say vehicle unveil I don't remember ths brz being unveiled in Japan(correct me if i am wrong). That could explain why there isn't a licence plate holder, maybe it is somewhere else.

It could very well be a regional reveal.

The Subaru BRZ got a global reveal last octoberish?

Canada got an official unveiling just a few weeks ago for example. All the same information but now "officially" coming to Canada.

Could also be a complete reveal for the 86 with new information that applies to both BRZ and 86 that wasnt available during the BRZ reveal.

But again, we'll find out on the 6th.

Celica 20k-30k
GR86 30k-40k
FMR86-2 40K-50K
Super 50k-60k
Supra 60k+
i saw that as "mishap"

was much funnier that way.

i am now calling the new vette's mishap designs.

Just giving a bit of an update.

Been trying to get into contact with my sales guy about my pre-order for the 86, and he emailed me today with the following.

Quote:
"We are not sure what’s going on but from what I see from bulletin, looks like there is gonna be a delay on the 86 production.

I will be back tomorrow and will give you a call in the morning."
So I will await his call in the morning, but it does seem like Toyota have issued some comms about the delay to the dealerships.

Firstly I'm not sure what the timeframe was originally (was the leaked schedule for July?) so I'm unsure if this will still be this year or not.

Our BRZ local release is nov/dec according to Subaru, which is probably a delay compared to the US for instance.

I still hope its 86. If not probably that rumoured hot hatch for US.
Well its not the 2022 BRZ front. If that is indeed a picture of the cars shared bonnet - as you said the bottom part is wrong.

I mean there is a rumored AWD project, one hinted at by Toyota and Japanese websites.

So it could be that!

Ye looks like it... Since you didnt get the GR Yaris in US like we did in EU and there were rumours about HH for US since Yaris premiere.
We will know in 1 week

But wonder what this HH is based on? This front doesnt look like anything in Toyota lineup so probably brand new car, Subaru based?

I'm in Aus - we got (and still have) the GR Yaris.

55k is just a bit out of my budget.

Well the car looks like an RC-F from the side, maybe they think they can disguise it as an RCF with an RCF nose too.

Yup. They even went so far as to color the camo to look like RC's predator grill.

The only way they would pull 10hp out fo the engine without breathing/head mods would be to add a flexfuel system, but that seems very unlikely since the complexity of the dual injection system would involve a sensor on both fuel systems and require a ton of effort to handle the DI/PI switchover sufficiently enough to satisfy their internal requirements. not to mention the added cost of the system.

IMO not happening. You get spring rates and bumpers. Maaaaaaybe FD change.
You get 14 additional WHP with the OFT E85 tune and no other changes.

But yeah - from the factory I don't think you could see anything like that. The OFT gives you a whopping 2 more WHP on 93.

After reading the first line of your response I was about to tell you ‘that’s on E85 numbnuts!’

Yeah apples to apples, on the same fuel, the manufacturers don’t leave anything on the table.

I thought part of the point of OFT was to increase the area under the curve (fill in the dip)?
Off topic, but wondering because my brother in law wants OFT and headers (though I'm not sure which he'd get first) for his '17.
