Here is the response(In blue) I got from Keegan and Schalk from an email query to them.
1) Do you require an MSA licence for these events? Nope. 2) Rules of events? (Cannot find a link on your website) Initial Cost to join Cup? Rules are pretty simple, you have to compete in 80% of the events, your scoring is based on the best of the events you participate on. i.e. if there are 7 events and you miss 2 you will only be graded on 5 not based on 7. 3) Registration and calendar for 2016? We haven’t decided on this as yet but will only release next year. 4) Is it possible for me to share the 2016 information on the Toyota86 forum? Yes you are more than welcome, in-fact if the Toyota 86 forum committee would like to get sponsored by Michelin I can set up a meet. 5) Silly question - Are you only allowed to use Michelin tyres ? :-) Any tyres are welcome but being a Michelin cup they hope for further sales There might be quiet a few chaps keen, I do know some of the 86's already joined this year at Redstar, great the more the merrier |

I've got to know several of the participants, and they're a good bunch of guys (and girls).
Mostly from the Renault RS Club and the Audi Club which is where the series originates from. Be warned though - these guys are seriously competitive, and they race to win. There's no semi-casual track day type of lolling around with them.

Just got emailed from Schalk (one of the organizers of the Michelin Cup)
Here's what he had to say: We are opening the registrations for 2016 and below you will find the costing. The form itself will contain class details etc, I read the forum post and although Andy is correct in saying the guys are competitive, we also cater for everyone of all skill sets. You compete against your own pace and skill - its not head to head and completely safe. Paid Up Audi Club Member - R300 Full Access Renault Sport Club Member - R300 Non Club Member - R400 The entry fee will make you eligible for the welcome pack as well as trophies and prizes for the year. The committee aims to make zero profit out of the running of the events and all the extra cash will be used to better your track experience. Registration link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1nom...VZ8IQ/viewform Video of 2015: Hope to have you guys onboard! The website is currently down and will be back up shortly. Let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to this!! |

Have you already registered? If not, don't bother trying to reserve # 86 - it's already paid for.

Hoping to see a allot of Gauteng 86 owners registering, This looks like a great platform to participate in various forms of motorsport activities... (Dyno, Drags, Gymhkanas', Tar Rallys, Track days etc) I think this is the closest that Gauteng 86 owners could get to participating in consistent monthly events, which are guaranteed to be epic! Has the Tokyota crew considered participating ? |

I'm hoping to enter at least one of the events (not dunno or drag of course!) Problem is, my balls aren't as big as you guys! I always keep a comfy reserve because I'm too scared to bin the car! Oh, if only I could get Toypta to sponsor me!!! But anyways good luck guys and way to represent! Will see you at the events!

I'm looking forward to the Michelin Cup, but I won't be doing all the events because it's so far from home.
I'll definately do the dyno (not out of choice, but to determine class), and I'll do all the track events, and go-kart track events. I'll probably do the tarmac rally, but I won't be doing the gymkhanas (don't like gymkhana), and I might or might not do the drag events - we'll see.
