Finally bought some springs
So I finally pulled the trigger on buying some springs because my car sits really high with the 235/50r17 tires I put on. Anyways after much debate and deciding that I really wanted the rear slightly lower than the front I went with the RS-R super down springs from redline360. I am probably going to have a shop put them on as I really dont want to wack a fender with the impact gun when I inevitably become impatient with the springs..
My question is.. After doing some research I keep seeing that if you lower your FRS more than 1 inch that you should get LCA's. I was just wondering if that was entirely true? These springs say they will drop approximately 1.2in in the front and 1.4in in the back so I am a little worried. Maybe @Tcoat can chime in on this but I really dont want to have to put LCA's on the car.. Any help would be much appreciated guys! Also the bissel carpet cleaner worked great! |

I'm sure RCE can easily answer and technical questions you have regarding suspension do's and don'ts in that thread. |

Why did you put 235/50's in your car? That's an inch and a half taller than the OEM tire.

No matter what you are going to want to find a good alignment shop to get your car within spec. I am guessing because you dropped it pretty low you may need lca's to account for any negative camber that might need to be adjusted for that an alignment can't. But until you know your alignment specs it is kinda hard to know what you will need to do.

Among other problems, like your speedo and odometer...I don't know if this will fit with a lowered car. Report back, would like to see finished pictures.

The tires fit pretty ok now. I can get a litle rub on the front drivers side if I go full lock to the left (which I rarely do) but I think I am going to cancel my order and go with a spring with less drop to avoid buying LCA's. the H&R springs are 1" in the front and 1.2" in the back and I think that will be the best compromise.

I have the stock LCAs but am also on stock tires so am not putting as much stress on them. Like was already said get a good alignment but wait a couple of days for everything to settle before you do.
You will love the look!

I would suggest to rethink that tire choice first. |

Have you noticed any extra inside tire wear on the rear?

Not a thing and I already have 25,000 miles on the car. Wear looks good and everything lines up just fine. Not sure what effect the taller tires would have (beyond the obvious rub issues) as they could certainly increase the angle.

Hmmm well I think I might just end up YOLOing it and dealing with the camber since they have already shipped the springs and getting them back is proving difficult.. Note to all, Redline360 ships VERY FAST. Make sure you order the right thing the first time lol
