Sirus Radio on Stock head Unit

I have read through basically all the threads on sirius xm. Seams like lots of mixed information. I already have a sirius account and a tuner, the starmate 7. After some digging around I came across these two products.
http://www.xm-radio-satellite.com/si...e_adapter.aspx TOY-SC1
http://www.xm-radio-satellite.com/SI...t_SCVDOC1.aspx SCVDOC1
Can be had for $90 & $40 on ebay
Is there any reason they will not work with our head unit? If I get these, $120 & $60, I should be able to control my tuner with these right? Any reason they won't? Seems straight forward to me.

Well that didn't work lol. Its got all the right connections, plugs into the back of the stock head unit but nothing shows up on the screen. No option to pick satellite on source menu.

Stock head unit uses XM I believe, not Sirius.
