I really need to clean in the crevice behind the strut towers. There's practically mud and mold growing there.

I'm going to hit it with my steam cleaner and some diluted super degreaser.

does steam really work better than spray in? Wouldnt it be harder to clean.... im guessing it does a better job but more time consuming, no?

@Packofcrows yes steam is awesome. Hardly uses any water. I usually wrap a towel around the steam nozzle attachment and the hot water accumulates there, making the surface under it VERY hot, boiling temperatures. Mold doesn't stand a chance.

I have a little harbor freight air compressor. I use it along with a couple different brushes to blow out all the dust. I daily mine and it's all spotless in there. It also works well for those areas where shit collects.

If anyone's interested in a compressor, I strongly advise against those oilless ones. As long as the compressor itself is a "real" one with a wet sump, it'll work great. Mine's been chugging away for almost ten years.

@Ultramaroon I've been thinking of getting a pancake air compressor so that I can use a Tornador tool (look it up). Do you know one that I could squeeze into our cars through the passenger door?

Mine is a little two gallon one very similar to this. It fits in the passenger foot well. I stuff a couple old pillows on either side so it doesn't flop around.

I looked at the Tornador. It needs a bigger compressor, one that can deliver 5 CFM at 85 PSI. That's about twice what the one I linked can deliver.

edit: Here's a pretty badass little one. Still, it claims 3.3 CFM @90 PSI.

My engine gets sandy (I live on a sand bar LOL Florida...) so I vacuum my engine every once in a while.

Before elbow grease.

After.

I use compressed air to blow dust, water, and particulate off/out of my engine bay all the time now to keep it clean.

Perhaps other ways to put things? This site has a feeling of going over half life. With an air of stale unpleasantness. You don't have to look far for signs. My comment really wasn't that bad in the great way of things. Was what followed really necessary?

???

I never even addressed you but if you're going to press this silly issue then...

A joke that flops is a failed attempt at humor. Now take a few breaths. It wasn't personal. Idiomatic humor most often does not translate across cultural boundaries. That's all.
