DAMN, Sapphireho, your HVAC system must have a supercharger on it, to move the air past that filter! -

(my filter has a MERV rating of 11)

At 1:45 AM I was forced into a crash course of "how to track down and disable the unit that is triggering a false fire alarm" among a half dozen networked hard-wired smoke and CO alarms that are scattered throughout the house. It took a couple of tries, but I think I successfully reset the offending device.
Now my dog has yet another thing to freak out about if it ever happens again.

smoke and co2 detectors are supposed to be replaced every 10 years btw.

had one customer got irritated at one we recently installed, and she beat it off the ceiling with a broom. then tried to get us to cover the damage she caused to the ceiling.

The units have been running for 7 years. I change all of the back up batteries every year. I've neglected taking them down, opening them up and cleaning them out with a blast of compressed air. I guess I need to add that to my regular maintenance schedule.

Was it you that had some recent health issues? What happened or is happening?

As a matter of fact, today I go in for my third cancer excision surgery in a little over 12 months. I am also currently undergoing immunotherapy.

I'm now sporting a brand-new 25cm (10") scar across my chest from my sternum to my armpit. An excellent excuse to avoid heavy yard work for a few weeks.
