Thank you, and sorry to hear about the death of your mother in law. I abruptly lost my mother in law back on April 12th, two days after she had a routine surgical procedure. Its been difficult for my wife and I.

This time of year can be challenging for some, especially those who are newly sober.
Company Christmas parties, family gatherings and other social events where alcohol is prevalent. I used to keep my yearly sobriety chip in my pocket and rub it if the thought of picking up crossed my mind. If it still persisted, I'd excuse myself and call my Sponsor.
And if that didn't calm the urge, there's nothing wrong with exiting Stage left a little early.

Something about "change the things I can" comes to mind.

Wishing all a sober, safe and Happy Holiday season !

Yep, the holiday parties can be a slippery slope fer sure.

I remember that I used to be paranoid that someone might have spiked the punch, so, I would grab a class off the table, add couple of ice cubes, go over to the water cooler and fill it up with water and carry that around.

I had some major dental work last week that required sedation and the short term use of pain meds. I had 20 teeth extracted. First time in over 9 yrs that there were any narcotics in my system. Thankfully I've healed and the poison is out of me. Back to a clear, sober mind.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Oral trauma is, well... it's really rough.

Wait one! You had 20 teeth extracted last week and now you are healed?

Are you sure you are back to a clear, sober mind?

Try using coconut oil and brush your teeth/gums with it. I know it sounds weird, but coconut oil is extremely anti-septic and it is one of the best-kept secrets in natural dental hygiene. You want to get the kind of coconut oil that is made for topical use on skin/hair. If you can find some that is not deodorized, that will have the best anti-septic effect. Coconut oil made for cooking can also work, if you can't find the kind made for skin/hair; the purer the better.
You can also use coconut oil as a natural mouth wash.

I hope this helps you brother.
