Fabricating the Five-Axis Concept FR-S Rear Diffuser
I think the Concept car for the Scion FR-S that was created by Five-Axis was gorgeous. I've been in love with the rear end of it and I've been wanting to recreate the rear diffuser onto my own FR-S. Has anyone attempted to recreate this piece or have any guidance on where I should start? It definitely does not seem like an easy task at all, seeing how the exhaust tips are much further outwards and that there is no way the gigantic stock muffler could be hidden behind this diffuser.

Start looking into fiberglass mold making. It's not entirely difficult, just extremely time and cost prohibitive

Yeah, I showed this to our production manager. He used to manage the mold department for two different fiberglass companies. He was like, "how much is your time worth and how much do you want it."

Pretty much my opinion of it as well. I'd imagine it would be better than having the parachute of a rear bumper cover when using a small single exit like I am though.

Why don't we have a fan car like T.50?

When I was doing some internet research there was some information about diffuser angles. To my recollection, 10-15* for speeds under 120mph. Over that, the optimal angle increased. One of them there super cars had an active diffuser that would change with the speed of the car.

Looks good n clean. Reminds me of the steep angle of the Ab Flug MKIV Supra with the MKV’s tail lights.

I would think building a one-time use male mold would be easiest. Use fiberboard for the large flat section, you'd need a form to attach it to keep the shape. I'd use shaped foam for the curved sections. Cover everything in AC duct tape then lay on a few layers of mat and cloth. Try to keep the layers of glass equal as it's easier that way. Once dried pull out male mold,, will probably get destroyed in process. At that point smooth glass as best you can with 36 grit, then lay bondo to perfect shape. Prime then either paint or possibly overlay with CF.
The hood scoop and manifold cover were both made this way.
