Track: Mondello Park International 10/4/23
Notes: Toyota GT86
Notes: CL Brake Pads RC6 compound Pilot sport 4 tires OEM style oil Cooler
Notes: Not really what I would call a good lap. Weather conditions were always changing and I was dealing with traffic all day. But this was the best I got that day.

Car: Toyota GT86
Notes: CL Brake Pads RC6 compound Pilot sport 4 tires OEM style oil Cooler
Notes: new personal best for me. 2:10.0 down from a 2:18.9. With the track dry and no traffic I finally got a chance to really push.

For a second time at Sonoma that was some great bravery into T10! Nice speed through there!

I was at Sonoma on Saturday, wish I could’ve made the Sunday 86Cup/86Drive Challenge event but just had a conflict. Looked like a great time though.

This was my PB lap from Saturday. As of now I think it may be a chassis record. With aero/tune/E85 and some RE71RS I think this car could probably get into the 1:47s. I’m just not confident the engine will survive.

Flying!

Thanks for the kind words, yea I wanted to focus on carrying speed through T10 that visit; get it out of the way now sorta thing.

I wanted to come Saturday but had to preemptively make up for the Mothers Day Track on Sunday hope we can link up next time I can get up there. I think you are right, 1:47s possible on your side, why are you not confident in the motor ?

Long story short, some fellow GR86 drivers who log oil pressure have seen some very steep and sustained drops in right hand turns, that seem to be exacerbated with higher g forces. A friend of mine also blew his engine at Buttonwillow running on Maxxis RC1 and lapping quickly. So I am hesitant to try and chase faster laps until I have some more data that reassures me the engine can safely oil at high gs.

Here's my video from Eagle's Canyon Raceway in Texas. Bad 4th gear syncro so you can hear me holding 3rd sometimes and not shifting when I should. And otherwise just shifting slowly to 4th. I found there's about 1.5 tenths by short shifting rather than running into the limiter in those two turns. But it was much hotter on much more worn tires so I was still a second slower the next time out, lol.
