@ProGodLegend I usually dgaf about wheel rash because I am 99% likely going to do worse to the wheel than that on track or in a rush, but I'd be a little irritated with a tire shop doing that on a simple tire mount/balance. I've mounted/balanced my fair share of tires and there is no reason for that damage to have occurred.

It looks to me like they were trying to mount your tires with prybars. Fine in your backyard with a lawnmower tire or whatever, but unacceptable to a paying customer expecting a professional service.

Idea of potential problem with mounting 245/40R17 on17x9 never occurred to me, because this is one of most common combo for this car.

42 mm offset of the wheel is what I would be cautious about.
I think APEX choose 48mm offset for 2nd gen wheels for a reason.

May I ask why are you getting different set of tires?

Same tires but from a different shop and I have to wait for them to arrive.

Introducing the Forged SM-10RS. An ultralight version of our already popular SM-10 design.

We’re a function-over-form brand, so we took our time and engineered this wheel to be our best. The original SM-10 has been re-engineered with thinner spokes and extra-deep side-milling for maximum weight reduction. The SM-10RS is now our lightest wheel in some fitments and meaningfully stiffer than our popular VS-5RS.

Just like all Forged Sprint™ Line wheels, the new SM-10RS features:

Sprint Spec Inner Lip
Fully Forged from 6061 Aluminum
Massive Spoke and Barrel Clearance
Un-Painted Knurled Beads
Lifetime Structural Warranty
Unmatched Replacement Program

Click here for more details and to see a list of fitments for your specific chassis.

APEX SM-10RS

Click here to join one of our active Group Buys to get deep volume discounts on our existing VS-5RS and EC-7RS forged wheel designs, or to be among the first to pre-order the all-new SM-10RS!

Love the side milled spokes. Absolutely stunning!

Nice size choices for our cars! 17x10!

Curious to see the specs on the 17x8.

Creates an interesting conundrum for an old retiree. Do I obsess over:

A set of wheels that I absolutely do not need

vs

A Nikon D850 - which I absolutely do not need.

Maybe would be an idea to have photos identifying each face profile on the site for reference?

Also - are there any plans for 18" fitments for the 86/BRZ?

@Clipdat

It's true. You only YOLO once. But the imponderable is - for how long? You have to sort out how much dog kibble you're willing to consume when you're 90 to get cool stuff you don't need now.
