So I went over a curb

The other night I went over a curb in a parking garage which I really couldn’t see with my window tint, but besides the point, I didn’t notice till today the fender actually shifted it seems up and slightly outward from what I can tell.

I’m wondering if you guys recommend anything on fixing this or if I should just take it to a body shop and see what they can do. How much do you guys think it’ll cost to repair through a body shop? I’m gonna look more at the damage tomorrow but I think I’ll be more careful turning corners in parking garages now

The bottom mount for the fender is at the pinch weld. I bet if you crawl under your car, you'll see it's smashed up pretty good. Just my guess. Might be cheap but looking at the bow in the fender, probably not.

Take it apart and look for bent things. From there we can tell how much to fix.

Easy, there is a bracket on the fender that bolts to the body behind the door. See circle in pic, it's a 10mm bolt accessable in the door jam with the door open. Look there, and under the car directly below for bends. I'd bet both the bracket and the pinch weld are tweaked slightly.

Loosen the 10mm fender bracket bolt but don't remove it. If the pinch weld is bent adjust that first. You can use pliers, or a hammer to straighten the pinch weld. Use a towel, or block of wood to help protect the paint. Once the pinch weld is straight, then gently adjust the fender bracket to bring the fender back in line with the door. Once satisfied, retighten the bolt.

Probably will take about 30 minutes to fix...or a body shop will charge you $300-$500

Ok yeah I saw that bracket yesterday so I’ll definitely mess with that and pinch weld. Definitely gonna do it myself cause I’m not paying a shop $500 to do a relatively easy job. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Don't bend or stress the fender itself too much. The paint might crack. You might want to loosen the top bolts while you are messing with the fender.

Yes, this has happened to me.

Incorrect. The obstructed visibility is the point. This time it was a curb, next time could be serious.

Get the fender fixed and lose the tint.

Get the fender fixed and lose the tint.

+1 on fixing your tint, your tint must not be legal if you couldn't see a simple curb or you need more awareness when slow speed driving.Either way you having to fix it will be enough of a deterrent to avoid this next time.

If you've got front windshield tint across the whole window you're already breaking the law and bringing unnecessary police attention to your vehicle.

Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer's AS-1 line or top 4 inches.
Front Side windows: Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Back Side windows: Any darkness can be used. Rear Window: Any darkness can be used.
