Izzy came home last Friday.

She is very much a mini dachshund. Smallest of her siblings at a whopping 1.6kg (3.5lbs) at 8 weeks old. The whole family loves her, including my sisters dogs (beagle and coonhound).

My poor basset. She had a mast cell tumor develop between her eyes this fall. Her surgery was today. The tumor was 1cm and needed 18mm margins so needed a skin flap because pulling the skin between her eyes together would effect her eyelids. They made a skin flap from her scalp and is the reason she looks like Uncle Leo.

Sooo Haru hasn't liked being on furniture the whole 7 months I've had him now. Which in some ways is great, but also meant he didn't like hanging out with me on my sofa or anything. So just a couple times this past week I've put a treat on the couch or the blanket to train him sort of for a "get on the X" command and he's gotten more used to it.

Then just now he was just napping in my living room on the floor, decided to get up and go to my bedroom, then I heard him whining so I went over there. He kept sitting on the floor looking at the bed. So I mistakenly picked him up and put him on there assuming he thought I just had a treat on top, which I didn't. And now:

RIP me.
