I removed the airbag, then removed the charge after grounding myslef...Im not big on things exploding in my face from stray voltage. It took all of 5 minutes to remove the airbag and charge.
I also didnt want plastic shavings in my brand new car :/ |

I was going to but I could not get the airbag to pop off through the little holes and did not want to mess anything up so I went with leaving it in.

Flathead screwdriver, push the clips in on the sides then the bottom theres 3 total...for future reference...and others. I work with explosives the airbag is an explosive charge essentially. Not something to take lightly.

seems like you connected the wires wrong....diconnect the battery pull the bag and check the wiring to make sure theyre on the correct side...thats what I would do...might have messed a wire up even...doubt it but maybe.

I'm about to do this soon to my car. I wanted to know if you had to hold the airbag or after you push the pins do they pop out? The original DIY was kinda vague in the description and said to pull on it -- not sure if that's such a good idea.

Did you make sure not to allow the clock spring to move? Check all your connections and pray that was the only problem. A snapped clock spring will cost you about $250 or more just for the part.

Awesome, I figured after I try it I'm going to write a supplement to describe the process better. I wasn't sure if you just pressed on the 3 pins will you hear it pop up, and you slowly pry it out or you had to jerk it out of the steering wheel. I don't like to go crazy rough while doing this since the interior plastics are SO craptacular and soft.

Jadewbj is there any chance you have the link from ebay? I'm finding the sizes to be larger than the original airbag emblem size.
