Toyota builds appliances. I'll bet they wish they put their own motor in the frs at this point.

Thus, I am not buying the reliability of this "credible source". Most reputable automotive magazines have indicated the car will sell for about $60K.

Hopefully, we will find out in two more days who is "credible".

I thought the car was going to be a modestly priced, maybe $40k car for the I6 trim, and maybe a little less for the I4 model, but if the $60k rumor is true, which it sounds like it is, this car is a terrible buy, you can buy a ZL1 or GT350 for that price and destroy this thing in literally any competition.

The Supra is literally an icon that appeals to the tuner and enthusiast crowd and a car like the Supra should've been priced for that crowd, and offered with a manual, if it really is $60k and automatic-only, this car completely misses any crowd but the poser rich boy crowd.

I don’t think anyone is considering the fact that BMW engines tend to be rated conservatively. They tend to dyno at or above quoted horsepower... to the wheels. They also respond well to mods. They aren’t as good as a 2jz, but if this was a 2jz, it isn’t like everyone would be running 600+ horsepower, so everyone needs to not be playing like this is weak amounts of power.

What’s the price of the Z4, a M240i or a M2? The Supra should be a good value with easily tapable potential. I wouldnt be surprised if someone could add some bolt ons, a boost controller, E85 and make 450whp.

I saw this about the M5, just to show an example.

Official: Toyota FT-1 Concept / First New Supra Prototype Spotted!

I'm not loving it, and I really wanted to. It looks like they really wanted it to look like the FT-1 but couldn't, and tried too hard to hold on to it. The rear haunches and front bumper especially look so bland compared to the concept. They tried to keep the detailwork the same but without the proportions from the concept it looks weird.

The 86/BRZ looks much better.

That's because you have been seeing leaks of this car and of the FT1 for the last 200 years.

It seems like there are some brands that are going more geometric and angular in their body designs and some that are going more curvy with a few modern creases. The Supra would fall into the latter. Here are a few other examples:

Mazda: Much of their lineup has curvy fenders with sleek, minimalistic lines.

Mercedes: They too have been offering multiple vehicles with a soft, edgeless body.
